I am a pin guy. My wife has always liked pacman and galaga. My questions are does this look like something that would satisfy her? Is the monitor upgrade a good thing? Is it worth the asking price?

It's a little steep, man.  You should absolutely be able to get it for a LOT cheaper than that.  As for the monitor "upgrade", I would do your best to play these games on a flat screen so you can see.  There is a difference, and most vid guys would say it's not an upgrade but a downgrade.
My 2 cents!
Daniel

They look just like the originals
You can get those 48 in 1 cards for under $100.00-
In fact I intend ordering one of the 465 in 1 cards shortly- (around $200.00)
They are jamma compatible and can be installed in the majority of video game cabinets without any wiring
Just buy a video game and install the card.
You should be able to get a good working jamma game for around $400.00.

I like the 48-in-1s and recently did a group buy.

I still have a few boards left, but they are not for sale. As noted, the boards are really cheap right now from the popular suppliers (<$80).

Having said that, the sound is off in many of the games (Gyruss stick out in my mind) ... there have been a number of detailed discussions on KLOV about this particular problem (which doesn't bother me enough to upgrade to the ArcadeShop board).

You gotta question any sales tactic that basically is trying to scare customers into buying "his" lcd version because otherwise your kids are going to get zapped with 30,000 volts....umm...they have locks....  ...if you need to reach gullible customers that badly, then there's obviously something amiss.

Well, Midway cocktails in good shape with the 48-1 board regularly sell for $800-$1000.  $1350 is steep but not way out there.  If you put one together yourself you can do it for $300-$500 but not with an lcd monitor.

The cabinet appears to be in nice shape, so does the glass, the clips, etc.
If your wife and you really want a cocktail though, look around for something with
some original artwork for around the same price.

The "golf green" motif on the control panels and the Fighter style joysticks take alot
away from it, and really, the edges around the lcd monitor will stand out more dramatically
than those pictures will reveal.

Thanks for the advice guys. Now what am I looking for? I see a few cocktails for sale in my area, but not the pacman/galaga I would like. Can I buy something else and convert it to a 48in 1 or even more games as some have mentioned. What do I look for? Should I buy or build a cabinet and install stuff myself?
