I know a couple of people here have Big Game, Meteor and Sea Witch. Seems to me that the classic Sterns are quite affordable and so cool in that vintage kind of way. Any favorites? Why?

Iron Maiden looks awsome indeed... but is sadly very rare as well.

My fav classic Stern is Flight 2000.

That game is fun and challenging, with quite nice artwork.
Good multiball, interesting ball-walker and early speech fitting the game very well.
Many of those now have flaked BGs and worn-out PF.

I also like Catacomb and Orbitor 1, as they are different and innovative (and I like the play).

I am also looking forward to fix/shop my Stern Lightning, apparently it is pretty good too.

Cheers,
- Sylvain

My Big Game should be back soon and I can't wait...a GREAT game...

It is challenging and the artwork is Wonderful!

I also like Seawitch (incredible flow for such an early SS), F2K, Meteor...I found Nine Ball to be fun as well.

MrHide: I know of a VERY ROUGH Cheetah project (see pics on my website)...you would be probably better off sanding the rest of the pf (25%) and call it a 'whitewood'...

Current 'working' lineup: ( 2 )
Flipper Football, The Shadow

Gone but not forgotten: ( 22 )
City Slicker, Dirty Harry, CFTBL, Big Shot, Big Guns, Black Rose, Judge Dredd, Indianapolis 500,
Big Game, BS: Dracula x 2, Beat the Clock, Fire!, F-14 Tomcat, Getaway, Breakshot,

Meteor is the first game I remember putting all my money in as a kid - I love the background sound..  Flight 2000 is a close 2nd - tough multiball - great theme.  Would love to have that one eventually.

P.S. Frosken's Big Game is coming along just fine.  Got the MPU up and running yesterday.  All switches, displays and sound work, all feature lamps dead (Bridge rectifier toasted), and 1 coil not working (blown transistor).  All parts are off the pf on the top side.  Should be able to finish it this weekend.

I too like Meteor. Its a nice fast game
and that high pitch background sound when
you are doing well is a perfect reward.

Seawitch is a close second. Like the layout
and the crashing wave sound effect.

Owned them both...and miss them...

Meteor, yes .... great game, had one for awhile and sold it, really miss it and would like to find another one soon. Excellent sound & light show when you max out the bonus! A little too easy to roll the score on it, but you can modify it for 7 digit displays, or use one of the mod chips to drop the 10's digit.

Big Game was alright too, I also sold the one I had, but won't likely look for another.

Frosken's Big Game now has the feature lights working (exept 3 that need a transistor change).  ALL coils are now working..  Started to do the Magic Eraser today..  It'll look nice!
