With people flipping machines for profit, I might as well buy any future pins off eBay , Craigslist or Kijiji.
The description given by Gory is one of the few instances I can recall where someone described flipping a machine sight unseen. The statement basically says that someone would do what they did and put their reputation in jeopardy for $. I don't see that from most guys on the forum. They tend to want to uphold their reputation within the group. If it was myself doing a straight flip I would clearly state that I never openned, played, tinkered, f'd with etc. the game to the buyer and this is the description I got from the previous owner about it. It would end with "do you still want it in light of this information or the lack thereof?" As to the comments made about selling high $ off Kijiji, Craigslist or Ebay. It seems to work for entry level pins, but for high end stuff your into the serious collectors that know what they are buying and are willing to fork out the money for it. Hell I have had games that I went over but thought there still could be minor issues which I didn't put the effort in to fully flesh out and said "treat as a Kijiji ad" just to be perfectly clear about my level of confidence in what I was selling. I am certain it was light years ahead of a Kijiji non-collector machine but still as someone who is in the know as most of us are here did not want to misrepresent what was there. 200 to 300 machines being bought and sold makes me look like a newb in retrospect. Makes me think it's best to just advertise in Kijiji and Craigslist. No write-up, no knowledge, it doesn't have to work right, couple bad pics and your off to the races with your sale. |
