So lets get a final head count, who is going to PAPA 11??
Can't wait! I look forward to this every year! 4 days of 16 hours a day of nothing but pinball!
I've got 2 TOPL guys going with me, leaving at 5am tommorow morning, another comming Thursday night, Friday morning.
I'm sure Frosken, Tartalig and Spacecadet will be there, anyone else decided to make the trip??
A division this year is going to be the supreme challenge. I think I'll be able to qualify, I may have to really bang out a ton of entries but I think I can do it. That's my goal, to qualify, anything after that is gravy.

Well first day at PAPA is over, I gotta say the skill level jump from B to A is quite insane! I think I'm going to have to take back my previous statment about qualifying. The difficulty level of all the games is beyond anything you would ever play anywhere. Almost all machines have had the outlanes posts removed. Rubber is also usually removed from and post that still exists to remove the bounce in the area.
I'm liking how Congo is playing, was able to put up a decent 1.6 billion on it, the left post is removed entirely and the right post is as wide as possible with no rubber on it. It plays really well but avoiding those outlanes is something else.
The other games are just kicking my a**, Tommy seems like it might be good for me, no one is playing it and I'm having some ok games on it I figure if I keep plugging away I might get a better feel for it.
For anoyone who reads RGP, KOZ/Pinlicious walked up to CFTBL and on his first attempt put up a 3 billion score, I don't think I've ever scored that high and that machine is playing really tough as well.
Still having a great time and I always love competting, if I can average 41st place on all of the games I play in an entry I can get in, my biggest worry is that the people who are already here are really skilled players and the big guns haven't even shown up yet, Lyman and Bowen are not ever here yet and there are a few other A players who usually show up the Friday/Sat so things are only going to get harder
Man, everyone is playing the Classics division now... they will probably have to split them up even more next year. I would REALLY like to challenge the greats next year.
I had the qualifying entry of my life in my second last entry, decent scores all around and I thought it would be enough to get me in, but it wasn't. Currently I'm 24th, which at the end of the day isn't too shabby for my First time in A. The one thing I am happy about is ove the 4 people from B forced into A this year, I've placed the highest of all four so that is nice.
This was my second last entry:
Entry #1372 (division A) Machine Score Rank Points Getaway: High Speed 2 449,962,020 18 70 Creature from the Black Lagoon 208,666,360 65 23 Congo 1,241,988,800 45 43 Tommy 225,373,980 66 22 World Cup Soccer 624,004,550 18 70
Total 228
Don't think I could string togethor 5 games better then that. Any day of the week I would have qualified in B with those kinds of scores, but the skill level in A is unparalled anywhere else. I have to give it up to the people who are qualifying in A it is tough!!
I know the first thing I'll be doing when I get home from PAPA is pulling all the posts from my machines
Hell man you did well to hold your own competing at the hardest level in the toughest pinball competition around. If it was easy then it wouldn't be a challenge. I just want to know how they don't drain in the first 5 seconds with all the outlanes the size of the 401?
