Tanner. I was looking at the picture you posted and those sticks appear to be for microswitch controllers from the square on the bottom.

Can they be interchanged with the leaf switch stick? Also how would microswitch 8 ways perform in Robotron?

Yes.
You simply need to replace the square actuator with a round one.
