what do you think, Bish?  Want to instruct a Sys80 class?

Anyway, I'm in for going to these classes.. I could definitely benefit from every one of them.

Hell no!

I would be up for instructing how to wire a JAMMA cabinet properly, though.

Great idea many of the topics I will attend if I am in the area.

Also...Gerald, given your back ground that you stated I think it would be more fun to watch a video of various weapons destrying a "garbage cab" versus the burning videos we have all seen.

Ha ha, you never know!!!

Thanks guys..There is a lot of interest out there for this sort of stuff, even for non arcade machine owners and the opportunity to network, trade, who knows what else exists. Also, like many other hobby based seminars, I can see some people gettting fed up and just going to the instructor and saying " how much for you to fix my s^%t?"

I agree with you, I had that occur many times..."How much to put a door up for me" , well I tended to turn those down for the sake of conflict with the shop owner, however if the situation arose I'm sure ( I would) the instructor would / should feel the responsibility to discusss the situation with you first, as to aleviate any conflict etc.

If anyone asked me to just fix their game after attending a class I was teaching, I would burn them with my soldering station and tell them to pay more attention to my class!

I KEEED!  I KEEED!

Maybe so, but does she go over it with sandpaper?

I can teach some good classes:

- how to understand how much a mame costs to buiild

- where-the-f**k-did-I-put-that-tool 101

- Death to Sharpies on playfields for dummies

- electricity... it ain't your friend

Seriously, I would just do an open subject class... Ask Uncle Sparky. Hmm... that would make a great column...

Retiring soon...

Yes, I would fully expect it to occur, but that would be one fringe benefit for interested parties( instructors) . As some of you know, I am not too greedy, but would want a small piece of the action.Good point

Maybe i should approach the local public access TV and pitch a show, I was of the understanding that you can basically do whatever you want, as long as it is semi professional and is guaranteed to put people to sleep!

Also , there are some subjects I forgot to mention:

How to "dehydrate a cabinet"
How to lowball without getting punched in the head or getting told to f off
how to gently bash things to fix them / how to direct your anger into a laser beam of awesome repairness
how to say "no" or also known as how much is too much??
