Hi, This is the usual question in this kind of forum, but it is always important !! What is the name of the arcade video game where you put your first 25 cent and how old were you ?? My very first one was Donkey Kong at the age of 12 and i never stop to play arcade video game since this time ! I'm 37 now. This is my favorite hobby. I play only classic arcade video game. The majority are sc-fi theme. |

Hmm, for me, it was in Florida, 1977. I was at an arcade with some older kids and fell in love with Sea Wolf.
I was too crappy at pinballs to waste money on them. Boy, times have changed.

I think I was playing pinballs from my first year (maybe I needed some help flipin' ). We use to go to the Black Sea coast every year, and my parents would play slots and they would send me to play pins... the EM ones. |

My first time was with a gril from....Oh different story. As far as I can remember, I used to play all those EM's at the Western Fair in London, and I remember playing Boot Hill or Gun Fight with my DaD at the Loblaws in White Oaks Mall in London (from anyware between 1975-1977) I also remember the first Space Invaders I played, It was new (fresh from the box, so around 1978 ) at "Pinball Wizard" in White Oaks Mall in London. |

I was probably 7 or 8, my grand-father had a camping ground and he used to have machines in the main room. I remember playing lots of old pinballs back then, not sure which one was the first, but i remember playing Mata Hari quite well... first videogame would be Galaxian. I could dress a very long list of pins and videogames i then played at that place and another arcade in town. I played at that place every summer till i left for Quebec at 17. I am now 30, last pin i played in that place 10 years ago was Fish Tales, i went this summer and they have no more machines, only pool table and teddy bears machine |

Honestly, I don't remember... When I was younger, I remember playing Track & Field quite a bit. My older brother introduced me to pinballs as they sometimes gave free games... Other notables videos were: out run, pole position (I was the KING I say!), Turbo, well...most racing games. The only problem was my brother was way better than me, which frustrated me in playing against him... I've always enjoyed pins...in the 80's-early 90s, my favorites were Pinbot and The Machine: BoP...and to a lesser extent: High Speed My love towards Pinball machines came back around 1993 when there was a decent amusement place (Midway) near my college... I remember that they had CFTBL, Addams Family amongst others... My friend and I fell in love with the Creature...thus is the reason why I have one right now! around 1994-95, my favorite was...by far...VIRTUA FIGHTER. I used to play it about half-an-hour 4 times a week... I started with spending from $3-$4 to play a day to 50 cents (one game) in about 4 months. Still today, even though I haven't played it in MONTH, I could mostlikely finish the game withn one or 2 'extra credits' with Pai. That's my story and I'm STICKING to it... |
| Current 'working' lineup: ( 2 ) Flipper Football, The Shadow Gone but not forgotten: ( 22 ) City Slicker, Dirty Harry, CFTBL, Big Shot, Big Guns, Black Rose, Judge Dredd, Indianapolis 500, Big Game, BS: Dracula x 2, Beat the Clock, Fire!, F-14 Tomcat, Getaway, Breakshot, Cheetah, Meteor, El Dorado, Nitro Ground Shaker, Chexx Hockey, Slugfest |

I believe I was about 16 and my Dad's drove the family to Florida. On the way, probably somewhere in Georgia or South Carolina, we stopped at a 7 Eleven store. In the back, somewhat behind a wall, was a Mario Bros. I put in a quarter and was amazed. I didn't want to leave the place afterwards. I couldn't believe how cute those little turtles were.
When we got to Florida (Miami), the Hotel happenned to have a Ms. Pac-Man, DKJR, Kangaroo and Galaga cocktail. I spend all vacation long on those darn machines with every quarter that my dad gave me. I couldn't believe that I hardly even spent any time on the beach (the girls!!).
When I got back to Montreal, I eventually found out about the Place Vertu arcade and kept on going there. I was then also big on going at Amusement 222 in laval (near Pont Viau) for many summers long.
Remember, that in those were the days, the game consoles were primitive and nowhere as nice as the arcade games and there were no Guzzo cinemas with nice seats - so Arcades were a major entertainment for all.
Thanks for reading. |

The first game that I can remember playing was back in 1978 or '79 at rollerskating rink in downtown Edmonton. The game was one of those driving game where the car was on a stick that you controlled with a steering wheel. The back drop kind of rolled past you - so it looked somewhat real in a fake sort of way. I can remember playing Sea Wolf (I think that's the name) where you'd look through a periscope. After that it was a Space Invaders, again at rollerskating rink (although not the same one). From there Sprint 2, Star Castle and Monaco GP were some other ones I can vividly remember playing. Didn't play many pins when I was young. Usually the bigger kids were on them. And I found that the quarters went down way too fast. |

For me, I remember the first game I played... early 1980, Bromont campground. First vid was a cocktail Wizard of Wor. They also had a Defender, and a Targ. Pins on location were a brand new Flash Gordon, a Silverball Mania, and a Bon Voyage.
Wizard and Defender tournaments....great times... |
