The prices quoted generally come from the current Mr Pinball price guide. Depending on how far it needs to be shipped, it may not be that bad of a deal. Still a little more than book, but in an acceptable range. Just my opinion.

I just wonder who actually has the "book" and who says I believe the book value is...

Two totally different things - right??

Anyways, I just messed around on the PINMAME of SW and I remember it now.  Yes, not really that exciting and I can see getting bored of it quickly.  Seems that I wish I had taken up this hobby 5 or more years ago.  Seems any machines that are fun to play and not easily boring everyone wants $3000+ for.  Others that are around $2000 look like they will not have a lot of staying power if you want to play them for long time.

Yes, Larry Bieza have published them bi-yearly between 1995 and 2005...
But there was no release of his book in 2007 as far as I know.

These books are a nice complement to the yearly Mr.Pinball Price Guide.

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Is that sarcastic "nice having you around"?  I don't get it... Anyways, I know what you are saying about Shadow.  I played it over at Hardkor's house and the play is really good.  I just don't know how comfortable I am with a game that has a few errors on it.  That and the fact that the backglass is just really bad still seem to turn me away even though the game is good "bang for the buck".  I am still considering my final decision.  Most of all I am waiting for jvegas to send me pics of IJ and TSPP so I can decide if I am buying one or both or his...

If you read the book , it states it is a guide , the prices can be way off. It is definitely not a price bible.

Prices are usually way off due to extremes of condition. If it's a piece of junk than it will be priced accordingly. If it has gone through a full restoration by someone that actually restored it or it's just a very low play or HUO game, again it will be priced accordingly.

In the end, you get what you pay for. Good title in good condition is going to cost you good money unless your just lucky.

The price guide is accurate for "good" condition machines. You shouldn't walk up and see it needs something or look like it has seen better days. Not perfect but really nice. Near perfect is going to run you a real premium because those are the ones that collectors buy and hold.

Anyway... you will see that when peoples selling price guide is an option, just an idea..  when they buying you sell too much according to the book

The best  way to use the book, if you ready to put some repair on a pin, the price book is the max, if you want a perfect pin right now to play without problem and minimum maintenance, you will probably  paid over price book if not patient...   It's an average... and again nothing all truths even the bible
