Yes the brand new furnace is an ultra-efficient model - it doesn't burn any fuel at all. Hard to see in the picture, but there are only two mounting standoffs for the circuit board, at the top. The bottom of the board just floats. So you can imagine how much it flexes when a guy in a hurry starts pushing and pulling on all the connectors. Seems almost designed to fail.
To add insult to injury, the contractor "red-tagged" my water heater, meaning it has to be replaced before propane can be delivered here again. Building code changes... then when I got up this morning there was water leaking on the bathroom floor, and another unrelated leak in the basement. What next?!?!?
Playable Now: Centaur II, Doctor Who, High Speed. Playable Soon: Breakshot, Sorcerer Later: Flash, Genie, Seawitch Fondly remembered: Firepower

You sure it's propane and not natural gas?? Propane is dangerous in a home!!

Wow... A few months ago I watched an interesting documentary on a 4 story building/mall that was completely destroyed in Puerto Rico by leaking propane because it's heavier than air.. They estimated that about 20 lbs (a BBQ tank's worth) had accumulated in the basement. The propane didn't even come from that building but through the soil from leaking pipelines a few blocks away!!
