Ok I just have to vent ok has been a few days since the Oscars.
Has anybody seen No country for old Men.
I did so did my wife and 2 of my friends.
I had won some movie passes for a sreening of the movie!
It was the most boring 2 hours of my life.
There was really no point to the movie it drag on and on the story line was week as hell but it wins best picture acting and other BS.
Is it me or the word really becoming like that movie Idiocracy where the best picture of the year was a** ect

haven't seen it, but here's another that you should run from, and I mean, RUN!

I Am Legend (or ANY movie with Will Smith for that matter)

We should just film Maaca meetings and sell the footage, I'll even be "the Zombie" and
you can be the guy that I infect with my crazy virus, and like, and Duane can be
the WHMIS representative trying to warn everyone while we all invade a Pizza place
with an arcade game in it, and then the arcade game goes crazy...and then....

Man, I HATE movies.

Man, I'm old!

Time to stop watching hollywood movies and investigate more artistic cinema.

Movies are just like music.  Popular != better.

The Oscars???  ON TV? - If you actually watched that then how can you complain about a movie dragging on and being boring.  Seriously - the oscars TV awards show had their lowest rating since 1974 this year.  I would rather watch my dog clean himself then subject myself to that grossness.  I never watch the oscars - it means nothing - it says nothing.  It is sick to see all these rich, underworked, overpaid "stars" patting each other on the back while the rest of the country loses their homes and hits the unemployment line.  Shrek should have won all the awards anyways -  Sorry if I am a bit opinionated on the subject.  Perhaps I have overdone my view.

PS.  My dog is AMAZING!!!

I liked "I am Legend", love most Coen movies, they have certain dept.  I'll have to watch "No Country for old Men" and see myself, but I'm open minded.  I'll say this, if you saw Fargo and thought it was boring, then we just have different tastes and I'll probably like "NCFOM".  Fargo was IMHO brilliant!

I don't think I've ever heard anyone compare a Coen movie to Hollywood, these guys are about as far away from the glare and glitter in their movies as possible.  Of course, that doesn't mean they hit a homerun everytime they make a movie.

If you want something more lighthearted but still in the Oscar camp .. I enjoyed Juno.

btw sinpin I agree about the Oscar show.  But some of the awards (i.e. the ones not broadcast on the show) are some of the more interesting and more deserved awards of the lot.

I'm sorry, but No Country was brilliant. It might seem slow paced, but it's used to build atmosphere, suspense, and character. Most movies these days (or in general) don't bother with things like that, they just care about inserting explosions and references to Christianity (I Am Legend). This is not a typical hollywood movie where the good guy automatically wins, and everything is tied up in a little bow at the end. Javier Bardem's character makes seeing the movie worth it on its own.

What other Coen brothers movies have you seen? MY favourite is the Big Lebowski, but other great ones are Fargo, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona, and O Brother Where Art Thou?

I have seen them all and actually like them.
But No country was so stupid.
I personally don't care if the lead actor dies the story did not have a build up and no real point to it.
Maybe I am just getting to old.
The hole movie is I am killer want money kill kill kill but it is so slow and so much dead time between seems your falling asleep.
Then you get a kill seen you wake up then nothing running fall asleep again oh I am awake.
Then nothing again then oh lets meet the cops father ect.
You think there will be a good twist in it or something you go thats brilliant none of that.
