It has been playing great for the longest time but, alluvasudden, now the GI and secondary feature lights are out. The 'primary' code lights work just fine. Last night, they came back on. Today, they're out. Also, a couple of times, it didn't finish booting. The game plays fine but no lights except the code.

Crummy old connectors? The rectifier board does look a little tough.

Thoughts?

Thanks for looking.

Kev

Had this problem on my 6mdm, it was the connector at the rectifier board. Did you "wiggle" the connector a bit? By moving it a bit you may be able to make everything light up and you will know.  When you say the rectifier board looks tough do you mean that its color is burned etc.  Are the male part of the connectors discolored?

take care

I'll take a pic and post it soon but I think that would be the only reason ALL the lights would be out for that board. I'll take a look at the schematics.

Yes probably a burnt connector at the rectifier board, very common.
