I don't think that would solve anything. What we truly need is a major shift in pinball. Something to get people excited. There hasn't been a technological shift in pinball in 20 years, other than the blip on the radar called Pinball 2000.

Still using DMDs, still using standard cabs, still using the same playfield principles... it's just gotten old, and they pretty much have done everything that they is to do. We need a period of great innovation like they did in the late 70's/early 80's, where designs were radically different from pins made 5 years prior to that. Something fresh...

But... for that...

you need money.

Not true at all, if you read this thread:

You'll see that Stern is actually succeeding with their last two games (BBH and IM) to increase earnings out on route.  Their test locations, according to Josh, are seeing increased earnings and a better return.  So while we as a collector community may not like the way that Stern is going, it is working for them.

Rehash of the same Stern forumla is likely the fallout of laying off talent.

I don't see any innovation here. The target drop bank started where... BK2K possibly? Static toys laid on top just don't cut it for me. What ever happened to exploding castles, pin-mation heads, ball tossing Ringmasters and vanishing ball mechanisms? Isn't pinball just a big a** toy for big boys.

I agree. About that "blip" called pinball 2K, there are lots of ways to do the same thing without infringing on Williams Patent Take note Stern.
