Aren't they gearing up production on repro'ing the hologram? Guess its a good time to sell before the market becomes flooded with repros.
It bothers me though that he didn't take a picture of the actual item. I would feel a lot better shelling out 500 seeing a zip-loc with decal inside or WMS envelope or something other than IPDB photo.

Wow that is amazing how high that went. Thats allot of coin for a vid man with that much could get a few pins. Or a big lot of arcade conversion ect.
Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.

Sure, it's alot of money to you and me, but to someone with alot of coin, it's nothing. Really when you think about it pinball and video games are surprisingly "cheap" on the upper end. Think about the best, absolute, most rare item in any collectible category and they are usually hundreds of thousands of dollars, not just a few thousand. Stamps, comics, etc. all have these elusive "gems" that very few could ever hope to obtain. $5K isn't that crazy, in my opinion, given that is the absolute best example of the first video game ever. I'm not saying I would buy it if I had the money, but I can certainly understand it.
Same deal with the NIB BK that John is selling. At a little over $5k USD (I believe) that seems really cheap given condition and rarity (in terms of being NIB).
Having a Vid or Pin that is so mint that it looks better than most furniture in our homes is sure something pleasing to our eyes!
TwilightZone --> you are so correct. Some people I know collect Wine bottles or Rolex watches and that is way up there in terms of prices sometimes....
Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now) Pins:White Water [WH2O]
Oh ya, it is in excellent condition. An absolute gem for a collection. And for sure, some people have the coin to spend on things like that. Hell if some people can own a 500K house, summer home, 3-4 sports cars, 5K isn't much, if much of anything at all.
Hopefully the person who bought it will actually enjoy the machine and at least play it once in a while, and take care if it over time. Sadly a lot of machines like this are bought just for bragging rights and end up sitting in the back of the gameroom and never played. That's okay if you had say a regular run-of-the-mill, standard arcade machine which a few thousand where made. But sad for a machine like this.
Oh well. In the end, it is his machine now and he can do whatever he wants with it.
