I need a set of bit (or whatever it is called).  They look like torx bit with a hole in the center.  Canadian Tire has only one such bit and it is too big.

So,

1) What is the real name for these?
2) Where can I get in Gatineau/Ottawa? (I don't want to order: the game is at home and can't be played.  I need these to set it up....

I would prefer to get a full set, something like this (see the ones on the left most column: http://img.westfalia.net/media/show_image.php?datei_id=73844&max_x=300&max_y=300)

Thanks in advance.

Security bits. If you have a Princess Auto in the area, go there and get a full set. They usually have them on sale for $5-6 for a set.

Just a word of warning...

As much as I "enjoy" shopping at Princess Auto,
alot of their stuff is really crap ...

I bought tools and supplies there and have never been all that impressed..
(.. I've had tools "break" on me.  Pliers in particular... )

I bought a full set of security torx bits,
only to discover that many had poorly centered holes
and the bits did not fit on the screw-head.
(...it was the correct size bit, it's just that the hole was off-center
so the bit would not fit in the star-groove. )

Just make sure you look at the bits carefully before buying...

Steph

Also, a lot of mess on sale and it is tempting to buy all kinds of stuff you don't need. What the heck am I supposed to do with this black light on my desk?

Steph, I agree, they're good for occasional use stuff, but not heavy use tools. For example, security torx bits, for removing topper covers.

I agree with Steph, some of the stuff is real crap. That said, the security bits are awesome and have been extremely useful a few times. Get them with confidence. Best $6 or so I ever spent on tools.

On the smaller screws of this type I have found that I was able to break the pin in the Center of the hole allowing the use of a regular torx.

And macphreak, that probably required the purchase of a very small needle nose or a small precision screwdriver. Its cheaper not to break it.

Probably so, I guess  its because I already have said tools but not the Security bits.
