I myself went my first time to the Microtel near the airport, and was pleasantly surprised. No breakfast... barebones accomodations, but clean, quiet and cheap. No complaints.

I am staying at the Holiday Inn Dorney Park this year... I figure a little luxury would be nice, i.e. a swimming pool (if it is open...).

I have stayed at both the Wingate and the holiday inn express on Hamilton.  Both are nice hotels but prefer the holiday inn.

I just checked on Hotwire.com and a three star (Holiday Inn, Double Tree, Radisson etc.) by the airport is $49/night. Same three stars in town $69/night. I think the Econolodge would have to pay me to stay there to get any cheaper than that.

No need to suffer at the Econolodge with Phil if your doing Allentown on a  budget.

Hehe Sparky. Microtel HAS free breakfast. Maybe you went down too late and was nothing left hehe. dunno. But I was there. Even last year.

This year seems like I'm going to stay at Hojo. I may come with 2 more ppl... dunno for sure yet.

I am around  80 miles north of Allentown if anyone want to stop by for a pit stop or for a few hours of playing pins before the you are more thsan welcome.  Just a few minutes from I-81.  Feel I owe  the MAACA community a heartfelt warm welcome for always addressing my problems with an unbiased and nonsarcastic response.  This forum is full of correct, clear, complete, and concise information.   When I started I could'nt even open the back box.  Thanks so much for really appreciating the hobby the way it should be treated.
