Ok, this a loooooooong shot.... I was killing time googling some Williams info, when I found this site on Sinistar, specifically the Duramold version. http://www.schoenke.com/tyler/sinistar/duramold/index.htmAt the bottom of the page (see Question and Answer), it mentions that there are only 2 complete, and 2 partial games known to exist. ...one of them in Montreal !!!! I wonder if this is the Duramold Sparky had at one time. (... I remember him talking about a Sinistar Duramold ). As it turns out, I'm now the one who owns that cab. (... and I know for a fact it's the one Sparky had ...) Unfortunately, it's actually a Blaster cabinet and not a Sinistar. (...as described by the site as having two speaker holes ). So I'm pretty sure the Cabinet mentioned on the site is "likely" the one Sparky had, which was mistaken for a Sinistar. Can anyone confirm this ? Sparky ? Or does anyone know of a genuine Sinistar Duramold in Montreal ? (or anywhere else for that matter ? ) Just curious. Thanks, Steph |

I brought a Sinistar Duramold that belonged to Sparky to Toronto about 2 years ago and gave to MonkeyBug. I think DiamondDave has it now though. |

Yes, it once was a Blaster... not a Sinistar. Sinistar Duramolds have 2 speaker ports under the marquee... Blaster has only one (or is it the other way... been a while). And BTW... I think I still have the plastic coinbox for it if you want it. It's been in my shed and I never threw it away. I forgot to give it with the game when I sold it. I will make sure the box reunites with it's cab! |

That's hillarious, that's the cab that I "almost" took to Steph last year. We tried to get it in the van when I was heading up to see Jim, but it stuck out, I have no idea it was so big. Sorry about that Steph. Interesting cabinet. |

Either way, I'm 99.9% sure it's Sparky's cab (...right down to the Crack on the top as described here :
yup, that's the one. That thing has changed hands a lot in the last couple of years. |

Blaster duramold have 2 speakers hole, it is natural because the sound system is stereo. PS: I'm happy you are back sparky ! |

Indeed... Ok, I'm just trying to put together an owners list here Please fill-in where you can Oct 2003 : Bought by HAL-9000 (MTL) Jun 2004 : Bought by BattlezoneMan (MTL) Jan 2005 : Bought by Sparky (MTL) Nov 2005: Bought by Diamond Dave (Tor) ??? 2006 : Bought by MonkeyBug (Tor) Nov 2006 : Bought by Steph (Ott) Did I miss anyone ? HAL, where did YOU pick it up ? -- ...and for those who care, I've now started a full restoration on it. I've fixed the crack at the top, puttied all the gouges, and gave it a fresh coat of High Gloss Black Krylon paint. (...look pretty good... I'll never find Blaster (or Sinistar) artwork for it, but I did score some very very rare Multi-Williams Duramold CPO artwork that Darrin Jacobs at Phoenix-Arcade did awhile back. He too has a Duramold, and only made a run of 5 MWMS CPO's. http://www.barncade.com/forsale/duramwcpo/index.html I also have a fully working WMS boardset with Clay Cowgill's 6-1 MWMS kit. The only pieces missing would be a bezel and marquee. (...I hoping to find some "regular" MWMS artwork which I could scan ). So with any luck, this Duramold has found it's final destination and will soon be revived as a rather unique MWMS. I'll keep you posted in the Restoration section. Cheers, Steph |

Wrong on the red counts. I bought it from a distributor that had it stashed in a corner for 16 years and it was covered with monitors and crap. Other than the distributor, I am first owner. I got the Sinistar boardset on Ebay thereafter. |

Interesting.... I did some google searches that showed a certain "HAL-9000" bought one 2003. http://groups.google.ca/group/.....426/0333fdde5f94ae91(Username is Maxime@videotron, so I assume it's the Same HAL-9000 as on MAACA ) and another post from BattlezoneMan wanting to fix a duramold in 2005 http://groups.google.ca/group/.....ca6/6e798d6aa390b4f4Now I'm confused.... Thanks for the update... Steph |

That's because BZM was there when I picked it up. He offered to post on RGVAC for me. That was about a month after I picked it up. We still go hunting for games together a lot. Gonna go again soon. I have my eye open for very rare prospects. |

It is me, since this time i convert it back to Blaster original. I change the roms ( i also try Blaster prototype ), i put another sound card, change the controller board. I made an overlay and printed it on lexan it is close to the original but i will make another later with some improvement. The only thing left to do is to change the transformer block and make another wood board more original than the one i have actually.
