Wish I had $1500 spare, but then again from Spark's discription, might not even be worth that much.

Not too many around.. this might be the last time you see one, once restored it is gonna worth a lot more than that.

Wow..., for Sparky (...the man who can restore anything...)
to let this one go (...his Holy Grail no less..) , it must be in pretty bad shape.

I read with interest his description of the machine awhile back,
and it sounded like it needed ALOT work...

I would argue that a nice example would fetch about $2500CDN.
Can it fixed-up for under $1000, probably not....

That said, I'll pass too...

Cheers,
Steph

flaky paint on playfield means at least $700 usd to fix.

i suspect that joust will still be at alouette for sometime to come

you know, "alouette" and "joust" do not go together.

"rust" and "alouette" ... now there's a nice match

Prices must've have gone up alot lately...

I remember two decent ones selling for about $2100-2200 US last year.

I also remember a really nice one for sale up in North Bay (of all places)
about 2 years ago.  It sold for $2000.

Back then I was "just" a video guy with one simple Gottlieb pin.
I couldn't understand people paying 2G's for a pin.

I say that now, having paid ALOT more than that for my minty TSPP and TZ,
and kicking myself for not having bought the Joust back then...

Oh well, live and learn....

Cheers,
Steph

Steph, if it makes you feel any better:

1) 6 years ago when I still had no pins, I gave up an opportunity to buy a mint (non faded) IJ at Alouette for $1200 CAD cash!
2) I bought a Spy Hunter at like $500 and now there is one posted here on maaca for under $200!

Doh!

To each their own decision on if this machine might be worth $1500 or not....

Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now)
Pins: White Water [WH2O]

Hey, she is restorable... I have seen worse. To give you an idea, it is nowhere near as bad as the EK I had. It can be restored.

Boards? Send to Bruno.

Cabinet? Elbow grease needed. And contrary to what I have seen, this one is complete... even the stabilizing legs are with it (rare).

I could definitely restore it, but I have other priorities right now. I have set a goal to finish SpaceCadet's control panel by end of April (I am going to FLA for 1 week, but wife is there with son for a month... so will have time), then I have 4 pins to clean up. I just didn't want another project, that's all.

And BTW... keep this a secret (yeah... right)... they will go cheaper than 1500$. Price is 1500$ negotiable. I negotiated... so can you.

There is still money to be made on this one, if someone took the time to do it.

Oh, and BTW, if any of you pick it up, I promised a scan of the plastic around the start buttons... I owe a guy that one. It would be appreciate if I can borrow the plastic simply to scan it.

Thanks guys!

Sparky

PS: I am not THAT good at restoring a pin... I am smart enough to know not to mess with a board too much, and the rest is just time, patience, elbow grease, and a lot of love for the hobby.
