- Pinochio, Centre 2000. the best of the time. who can forget the 3$ for 2 hours sunday mornings?! - Centre Laval, another favorite. - Amusement 222. Clean, cheap AND LOUD!
Montreal - Place Jack ( alouette, corner decarie / queen mary ) College days. loooots of money down there. - Casino Royal, st-cat / bleury arcade for pinballs! was great! - St-laurent / st-cat. 2 nice ones with A LOT of pinballs - St-cat / de la montagne 2 in front of each other, again a blast.
Plenty more but for now, the wife needs the puther.
Pinocchio - Boul. des Sources. $3 for 2 hours on Sundays as well. Best deal around as a kid.
Marche de l'Ouest had a great arcade too. That's going back a long time though... I remember the day Gauntlet arrived and it took forever to get on it to play cause of the lineup.

Future World near Billings Bridge if I have the name right. It was a high-tech arcade where you had to be a member. You got a swipe card - spent a lot on the Kangaroo video game at the time.
Not sure of the one near the now College Square in Nepean. Could walk there as a kid through the farm fields (now Centrepointe) and spend the paper-route money. Apparently, according to TwilightZone that arcade was around until the recent renovations.
I was born and raised in Laval, therefore the ones that were popular were as mentioned by Mr.Hide: Centre 2000 Pinochio, a short walk from high school (how convenient!) and Centre Laval, many memories there. Of course there were many local arcades: Le Faubourg (Levesques Blvd on Laval) at one time this place must have had 30 pins!!, and another on BLVD. Cartier. In St-Laurent (CEGEP years), there was Fonzie's arcade on Decarie In Montreal, there were many arcades to choose from and many on St. Catherine st. (the ones mentioned and more). Some that I have vivid memories: There was one in Place Bonaventure with a wide selection of pins, one in central station and one in complexe Desjardins. This was late seventies and early eighties, and the arcades were HUGE back then... Great memories with the most memorable pins being: Kiss, Gorgar, Firepower, Blacknight, Eight Ball Deluxe and Flash Gordon... Eight Ball Deluxe being the last one I regularly played before getting back into the hobby a couple years ago.
Ottawa: - The Games Room on Rideau street and one on Bank street - Rideau Arcade on top of the old Rideau theatre - Rideay Arcade on Rideau street (below the Hayloft restaurant) - Rideau Arcade on Dalhousie near Rideau - King Arthur's Court (Rideau and Dalhousie) - can't remember the name of the little arcade on bank street, but someone around here mentioned it recently
Place Vertu shopping center (first ever that I had been too!) The arcade was in a corner towards the back end of the mall. Nice small arcade with one big room with machines around the sides and a 'U' in the middle also. The other small room had all Pinball. Memories here were first seeing: Dragon's Lair and Major Havoc dedicated! And ped day from school and you could find me here for those 1-2 hours until the $5 or so was all gone. I remember this place being SO PACKED on Sat. that it was like a nightclub (and I remember a super cute girl squeezing behind me in order to pass and then teaming up with me to play Super Pac-Man - I was such a shy boy then).
Chez Paulo on Bélanger near Lacordaire First played Vs. Super Mario Bros. here
Amusement 222 in Laval Popular place at the time but way too loud and distracting (the Vids like Ms. Pac-Man were so loud that you had to play with your head moved back a little bit). Remember how cool when Spy Hunter and Gauntlet arrived at this arcade (and the line ups playing them).
Ken's in Laval Little place near Concorde Blvd and 19th in small shopping center First remember seeing Space Ace here (man was that every hard to play)
St. Catherine Amusement 2000 (where it still is today - the only one left) Fun place, the entire right side wall had Pins lined up and the rest had rows of tightly packed Vids
St. Catherine & de la Montagne (North side - I believe where La Senza store is now) Small place (two floors) that felt cosy in the dark evenings playing a machine in a corner.
St. Catherine & de la Montagne (South side - some clothes store there now) Decent sized place (two floors) with plenty of games
St. Catherine near Fort Average one
On Decarie near Cote-Vertu Average small one
On St. Hubert Promenade near Beaubien or so Average place with decent choice
On St. Laurent below St. Catherine (left side of street) Small place
On St. Laurent below St. Catherine (right side of street) Similar (probably same owner) as the one on St. Hubert Average place
On Lacordaire near where the Zellers is Small place in which I played the rare Quantum Vid
On Lacordaire near des grandes prairies Average place
Provi-Soir depanneurs everywhere!
I got around quite a bit as a 16 year old, no?
Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now) Pins:White Water [WH2O]
- Place Versailles. Played Orbitor1, Fathom, Flash Gordon and Centaur there.
- Chez Paulo (Bélanger near Lacordaire).
- Centre Langelier Bought my 2nd game (Flash Gordon) there, I think it was called Pinnochio back then too.
- Downtown on St-Catherine.
- And a few more places I forget.
Cheers, - Sylvain.
