Just trying to get some info on this pinball 2000, such as price, availabilty
A nice Pin2000 should be about $2500CDN ( upto $3000 for Prestine/HUO)
RFM is more popular than SW so you "may" be able to find a SW for a bit less.
($2200 for a decent one is good deal IMHO )

and ability to find a RFM playfied to swap in.
RFM was never offered as a Kit. Only SW was sold as upgrade kit to RFM.
If you're looking at having both, buy an RFM , then the SW kit.
If you buy a SW, you'll never find "just" the RFM PF to swap into it.
BTW. The SW kit is about $1000.

It looks like there were alot less Star Wars created.
I don't know the numbers, but I "believe" RFM sold 5000 units.
(...isn't that what they say in the "Tilt" Movie.. ? )
And since Williams was actually shut down during the production of SW,
it's quite likely that their production number is less.

Plus is there anything to look for when evaluating the condition of this pin.
Other than the obvious PF wear.
1- Make sure the monitor is good ( crisp picture, no "bouncing" )
2- Ask if the Computer has had the fan upgrade. ( The original PC's had weak fans and sometimes overheated )
3- The mirco-switches (roll-over lanes, outlanes) tend to get "sticky"
( I had to change all 10 of mine on my RFM...)

Any info appreciated. Reviews welcome too BUT I know its not like real pinball and JAR JAR is a pain in the a**
1- It IS real pinball ( ... damn fun at that too ! ) , but yes Jar Jar is a PITA.
2- RFM is more "fun" ( superb humor), but SW is actually the "deeper" of the two
3- You're kidding yourself if you think you'll be swapping PFs alot.
I have an RFM with a NIB SW kit.
I installed the SW PF "ONCE" and played it for 1 week.
It's been RFM ever since.
It's not that I don't like SW, it's just that the entire swap actually takes more like 30 minutes
(rather than 5) . Swapping games requires an eprom, PF and plunger change.
Still, like I've preaching all along , I think that Pin2K is an undervalued pin in my opinion,
so get one while they're still reasonably cheap.
Cheers,
Steph
