The most common question asked about my WH2O pinball machine is: "Wow, why does the Williams logo look just like the Motorola logo upside down?"

So, does anyone know? Is it a coincidence?

Interesting topic !

This was discussed a year ago on MAACA:
http://archive.maaca.org/s107351202.onlinehome.us/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?m-1170903233/s-3/highlight-Motorola/#num3
No conclusion was reached.

I personally think this is purely a coincidence. Otherwise I am sure there would have been lawsuits!

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Ummm... not quite.... sort of.

Motorola was founded in 1928 as the Galvin Mfg Co., and ultimately became Motorola in 1947. (Motorola was a trademark of the company, and the name of their line of car radio's since the '30s)

Williams Mfg. Co. was founded in 1943.

(oh and I forgot to add... the famous Motorola logo was created in 1955.  From what I can tell, WMS didn't start using theirs until much later)

I thought with this pinball it would be "Is the ball supposed to hit the glass like that off the ramp?"

Very cool feature!  Love the design and playability of this game.

lol, yeah, it always scares people when that happens. Hasn't happened to me in a while though.
