Steve Ritchie is designing Spiderman??  Let me guess...  3 flippers and a side ramp

Mike

C'mon, now. I can only think of High Speed, Rollergames and ST:TNG that Ritchie designed that way. And Lawlor took the idea on TAF, Eddy sort of used it on The Shadow and Nordman took it a step further on Wh20. I'm sure there are other examples, but those ones come to mind.

To suggest, though, that Ritchie re-hashes his designs over and over is a little silly, IMHO. He's made many wonderful games and was innovative in the process. Yes, there is a certain common feel to a Ritchie game, and occasionally they share common elements, but the same can be said for almost any designer. And how many times have designers tried to steal the Ritchie formula when putting together new games? He must be doing something right.

Well how much can you really do when you are dealing with few ways of interfacing with the ball. You can either propel the ball with a flipper, capture the ball with a magnet or divert the ball with a ramp. I would like to see controllable magnets getting used again, like catching a ball in a magnetic web.
