Not enough room in the title to write the full question so here it is:
How many people aquired a game they had said they never would??
Me: 3 that I had said would never enter my home let alone my gameroom...
TZ: I didn't "get it" at the time I had said this - wow was I ever wrong! FH: Always hated this game and still do.. STTNG: My dad (who lives 20 mins away) already has one - but mine has the speaker upgrade and is clean

I never liked TZ at other people's place and was really not hunting for one... Then i woke up one day and decided to pick one up, best decision ever. Now i "understand" too...
AFM wasnt planned either, was not too convinced when i played it at Phils (with 8 others games playing and not beeing able to hear the sounds..). I'll see how it holds up, for now i like it much more that i thought i would. Didnt see Strobe Multiball before, very unique thing for sure. Bonus, the game is very bright and is perfect to be played in the dark.

Speaking of playing in the dark.. Anybody else with a STTNG out there?? Can you play in the dark?? No way on mine.. WAY too dark and you can't see the top or center of the pf. I'm thinking my GI might be screwy and too dim...

I can honestly say never. In my case, I cannot name a single lone title that I can honestly say I will never own. There are some that I don't like, but then again, for me, it comes down to price. I am sorry if this insults some members, but I find it completely insane to pay in excess of 2500$ for a pin. My sanity limit is 2000$. The most I have ever spent was 1800$, and even then when I looked at the pin, I kept seeing the price tag. It is a buzzkill for me. Yes, I will not lie, I would love a high-end pin... as long as the price tag doesn't come with it.
Just to tell you how bad I am with this, if I had the choice to spend 3000$ on an AFM or 3000$ on 6 older pins, give me the old pins anyday. I guess that I am just a classic pin lover by heart.
...My favorite Wizard mode is seeing a score display roll over and hear the knocker go off three times.

Its not the brightest but i'm able to play in the dark. I have dimming lights over my games and keep some lighting over when i play STTNG usually.
Shadow on another hand, cant see ANYTHING on the Battlefield

Lets compare how much money we have invested so far and find out who is insane
I thought 1000$ was overpaying for a pinball machine 4 years ago.. someone save me please.

The difference is that I invest in the hobby itself... not my games. If I did the opposite, maybe I would then have high-end pins and not worry about it too much.
I'm still starting off so I can't really comment like others but definitely for me, the $$$ value is still a road block. Don't misunderstand, I know they are worth it, but I still can't believe new pins go for $4-5K and because of that, I doubt I'll have one. There's the issue of cash availability, and there's the mental block I've set up on what I consider "proper" $$$ to spend on a pin. I'm sure continued exposure to you guys/gals will surely "heal" my mental block .
