a) Every story has 2 sides and b) People know who I am talking about now, so they can decide what they want.
I have some more to add, which I will break down by topic:
SuperChexx: If you read my post, I didnt say I ever commited to buying it. I agree 100% on that. But I was doing the honest thing and being upfront with you. When you told me I had first dibs, and you didnt state that you had any problems with me taking some time to give you an absolute answer, I took that as being you would hold it....or let me know as soon as someone else was interested to force an answer out of me. How many people did you say "you have first dibs" too? You just admitted you sent PM's to a lot of people at the same time. So it turns out that you basically lied to me, which gave me the impression that I had time. Of course, there is a second part to this story, my Make Trax project. You have been hounding Diamond Dave for this, for a very long time. I acquired it and you said you would deliver the game in exchange for the project. When I told you the project was gone, you decided to contact the buyer directly. You gave the impression to him that you and I were close friends and that I had 'accidently' sold it to you. This is all from the buyer who didn't quite understand where this was coming from. Next time, please don't use my name when you are trying to weasel something out of someone I know.
IJ: I forgot about that. I now remember. I had been talking for weeks to Mr.D about buying it. Then suddenly he tells me you want to buy it. That is when I start talking to you. I had a feeling that you would scoop it out from under me, because you had a previous dealing with this seller and I hadn't. Why would I not believe the seller that you were going to buy it, after I had spent weeks negotiating?
TZ: The story I heard is that you and Mr. D agreed to buy 2 games and you both got a discount. Mr. D paid for his game and put down a $500 (or was it $300) deposit for your game. The deal was that you would pick up the game and reimburse the Mr. D for his depost. Well after almost a year, you never picked up the game, you backed out of the deal and had no intention of reimbursing Mr. D the money that he put down for you in good faith. So he offered it to me, because he just wanted his deposit back and had given up on you. It was a good thing that the seller was nice about it all. Tax or no tax... you still had a duty to the person who put down money on your behalf to pay them back.
Tempest: Yes, I remember something about a dirty, musty, smelly empty Tempest. Both you and someone else were looking for one at the time. I dont remember the details but I mentioned it to the other party as well, since they were capable of doing restoring work, which you are not. And this other person and I had lots of friendly dealings that werent always about money. Nothing ever came of it. I also wasnt impressed when you showed up at my door and then announced to me that you told someone else to meet at my house without my prior knowledge. Some people don't appreciate that. I have nothing against Dave (great guy), but I didnt know him at the time. Maybe you should keep your contacts seperate next time.
Gorf: Not sure about this one. Is this when you were trying to sell me one 3 years ago, or recently when I simply asked if you still had it? (not that I wanted to buy it).
That's my side of the story and people can make of it what they want. If you want to argue, go ahead, but I have hopefully made my side clear that I thought I was offered something 'exclusivly' when I was not and the item was sold to the first person with cash in their hand. So how much more did you get for it?
I haven't even gone into the times you would send me pictures of other people's items for sale, ask me to commit to something worth thousands when you couldn't answer a single question about working condition. Rick, we all know you are in this for the money (if there is any?). Just admit it.
When you told me I had first dibs, and you didnt state that you had any problems with me taking some time to give you an absolute answer, I took that as being you would hold it....
I'm going to have to side with Chris on this one. If a seller of ANYTHING tells the potential buyer that they have first dibs, they should stick to their word. In this case Chris had first dibs, was going to need a day or three to ensure the funds were available which was communicated to the seller, and still the seller out of the blue (same day even!) tells the buyer it's sold.... just like that!? Definately NOT cool.
If Rick had a problem with Chris taking a few days to gather the funds, he should have stated this immediately and retracted his "first dibs" offer. Plain and simple.
What? Am I missing something here? How did I get into this? Okay just for humor sake then, can you tell me where this negativity is coming from? What?
flashman
PS I think some clarification is needed.
I meant that I had previous deals with Rick. This wasnt my first dealing with him and that his popularity (at least among a lot of the collectors I have talked to over the years) wasn't that high. I put your name, as a direct response to your comments. (Make sense?)
If you got someone else biting, it still goes back to the 1st dibber to firm the deal up and if he can't, you let 1st dibber know that you then will have to take the 2nd guys offer (if the 2nd guy can go firm too).
Feel the knife in the back there Chris, Brian

Why watch the Bold and the beautiful when you can read this??? Like sand through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives...
Some sellers around here seem to think that it's OK the sell a game for twice the retail price to a newbie. You can screw some people some of the time but not everyone all the time. Funny how life fines a way to catch up to people!~

Makes sense now! Thanks Monkeybug. Just that the message involving me may have been taken the wrong way.
