Why should the words of one or two members mean the end of maaca? People seem to be over reacting here.
Can't we just move on and just call it a misunderstanding between a few individuals? I understand feelings were hurt, but taking sides and prematurely predicting/declaring the demise of maaca helps no one. If the argument was offline there wouldn't have been a problem, right? Am I missing something?
If you want to be angry, blame the individual(s) not the medium.

It all in good fun but like sparky said rare to see gle shy of words
I have just been busy. At the end of the day here I had more information about what transpired above and beyond what appeared on the thread. Let's just say not everyone was completely above board and I am not pointing a finger at Jvegas other than the fact he ignored me. I'm married, so I am used to that.
As for the post I wished it had been left it up. Obviously Sparky feels the need to exercise some damage control, but I don't know why personally. What I am having a real difficult time understanding is why a member would try and override Sparky and just post the information again?
The last man that was perfect was crucified. I don't think too many of us on here need to worry about that fate.
Well, I guess that congratulations are in order, guys. Both Jim AND the seller, Edgio, have left MAACA.
I thought of sharing Edgio's comment with you all, but I won't. As ascerbic as it was, it was quite deserved.
.
Jim is an important member of the MAACA community, he has hosted how many meetings? I for one think that this is a huge loss to all of us. Sorry to see you go Jim.

It's all about the PMs... I got a grand total of 53 yesterday, varying from rants to insults to demands to encouragements. It's all good. And if I did have to do it again, yes, I would probably leave it. But being in a crunch and with all the angry comments coming in, I just acted.
As for the second comment... yeah... I will be quite open... that pissed me off. Especially when there was a post to write in in the forums. The fact of bringing up a personal grudge over manuals... as another member stated, that should have been mentioned in PMs, and if that person believes that there is a danger of a member getting screwed, simply PM an admin and we will look into it. Instead, it degenerated all over again. I do understand the motive behind the intervention, but it wasn't the right place to do it.
Frictions always happen in a group, it is inevitable. I have had my share myself. But as some mentioned, it's just a hobby, and I am in it to
1- have fun
and
2- help people out any way I can.
That's why I stay around and pay for all of it. But yes, every once and a while, this happens. Sucks.... but it happens.

Mike.
I agree....
Few will deny that Jim is unquestionably the "mover and shaker" in this group.
I've lost count, but I'm sure he's sold well over 100 pins to various MAACA members.
He was (...and is still is... ) a HUGE asset to this community.
I understand his frustration and would feel exactly as he does given all the crap he has had to deal with in the last little while. (...and I don't just mean this latest episode... )
I'm sure his absence will soon be felt as the influx of "new" games from the US dries up and everybody starts recycling the same games over and over again.
I just hope he considers coming back to the group at later date when he's taken a well deserved break from pinball-related dealings.

I thought it was brilliant that the page was captured and reposted. In my humble opinion, it shouldn't have been deleted in the first place and Sparky even said if he could do it again he wouldn't remove it. I just wish the first two pages of the thread had been saved as well. It's threads like that which give us glimpses into the real personalities of those involved. They should be preserved.
Maaca is an excellent community. There have been many, many friendships forged here and a few animosities as well. In the end, it's only pinball and I hope that we can try to be a little less serious about these things in the future.
He was getting fed up for a long time, that was my impression. This latest incident was probably just the last straw.

OMG. If you could see my eyes rolling. You have to be absolutely joking. Brilliant. What a farce.
This sort of brilliance does not see the total disregard for what the admin on here is attempting to achieve. Peace and harmony. It would appear there is more interest to just stir the pot when it wasn't thier soup to begin with.

Easy to say, after the fact...
You can't start the argument, then call foul when you don't like the way it goes.
