There are some gearheads on here too. Anyway I am always getting people asking to go for a ride and couldn't find any Youtube footage of the what it's like to ride in the car so I shot a short clip.
I didn't really let it loose. I think I was somewhere within the speed limit at all times.
My only comment is that the music buries the sound of the engine.
Yeah I agree Steph. I just did one lap around the block and after realized the windows being open caused huge wind noise on my camera mike. Anyway it was a one shot deal and pumped into Windows Movie maker so I just threw some music in to mask the wind. One take is ambitious as I can get.
Too bad it's not automatic. All that shifting is a pain.
I disagree 100%. That's what makes this car a blast to drive. 99% of them were automatics and very good automatics too, but I wouldn't want an automatic in this particular car. BTW it wasn't an option with the package nor was air conditioning available.
Donnie, Tremec now makes a drop in 6 speeds for the car and trust me the two overdrive gears would be welcome. The point is to have the car drive like it did back when it was made which even by todays standards is a very fun ride so it stays with the original 4 speed. Close ratio 4 gear is great for around town. Where it gets touchy is on the highway not having those extra overdrives and that relatively tall rear end.

To me, it's not really "driving" if it's an automatic.
Sure, I drive an automatic for convenience now, (...to shuttle the 3 kids around town) , but I had a 5-speed MX-6 turbo in my youth and just loved to rev-up the RPMs and shift the stick.
I can only imagine what it must be like to do with a car that has "real" horsepower... (...unlike a high-revving turbo-charged Japanese 4-banger ... )
I like working on old stuff and restoring it. Whether it's a pinball or a car or whatever.
Last house I bought was an old century home and complete reno'ed it. Most the of the work I ended up doing myself. It needed everything and prior to me renovating it and most other investors were considering tearing it down. That to me would have been an absolute crime. The damn taxes after they reassessed it damn near drove me to bankruptcy but it was an awesome project. Literally the government was driving me out of my house.
Here cooke here is another one for you to comment on. If your ever in Newmarket on Main st you will see the house. The new owners have since turned it into a spa and added the wavy walls etc.
Too bad it's not automatic. All that shifting is a pain.
Got to deasegree with you Kev "

I would prefer the original over the copy any day of the week. These new ones are far too refined for my tastes and work on them? Forget it.
I agree ! But the hood is , to my taste, the best looking one Chrysler made . I ' m including some pics . Motorcycle pics as well . Easier for me to moove them around than muscle cars . I traveled a lot . No pics of my Harley Sturgis 1980 . Got both Harleys stolen . The sportster in Baie comeau and the Sturgis in Calgary ! F#@*#@# Kings Crew !!!
Sold the good looking Whizzer last week and the old looking one ' s a keeper . From 1340cc to 148cc , family life sure can change your priorities ...
