I'm also willing to host as soon as I get 4 machines playable. But I don't expect that to be until April the rate things are going...

I see what everyone is talking about...the 4th player thing is an issue. Lets say:
1st place is 4 points
2nd place is 3 points
3rd place is 2 points
4th place is 1 point

If it happens that one group is 4 people and one is 3 people.....its all random as to who gets into what group, so just lucky for you if you get into the 3 person group....just like it is unlucky for you if you get paired with Roger Sharpe and Lyman Sheats.

Actually seeding in groups shouldn't be random, it should be based n past preformance so people who preform similar are grouped togethor.  So you are penalizing people for playing well (as the top group is allways the first group of 3) not the message you really want to send.  

Yes it might be unlicky to be paired with Roder Sharpe or Lyman, but the oppertunity would still be there that the person might be able to beat them.  You still have the oppertunity to beat them where as if you decide to only give out 3 points to a group of 3 they don't even have the oppertunity to gain that 4th point.  

Let's just keep it simple for the moment and let randomness take care of 'unfairness'. Your points are valid Adam, but I don't think we're quite ready for what you suggest just yet.

So... when do I have a crack at those standings? When is your next meeting?

I just played my first game of High Speed this afternoon. May have 4 machines playable by March.

I'll set up the Feb league meeting. Just have to check my work schedule and Seb's basketball and snowboarding schedule to pick a Saturday. It will be a Sat evening for my meeting. I'll post within a day or so the date and time and number of people allowance (only have upstairs games set up)

It's simple, and scales to all the group sizes.

  i think thats a great scoring system...scoring is perfect that way.   big group of 13 would be great and you would have to earn them points and down to a two player league is great.  can i get a set of those rules?
  i am tired of playing with myself  (inset joke and other things here) and earning one point at a time.  hahaha     come on peterborough and area.  there is enough of us around with machine to start up alittle something once a month or more.  

most of you have seen the shop.   machines are in fair and good running condition.  excellent running condition when its slow at the shop and i have some time to work on them.  but its been busy....

   i know i have six people for sure who would all be part of this group.  they are easily once a weekers but we could do it once a month for a bigger group.  most work at the shop and i have a few friends that come almost once a week before we all go out to the bar.  always someones birthday or something going on.  we are getting a dance floor put in by summer.  once i get some time.  disco ball and all.  

      but all of us would love to play at others mostly.  we have played the shop machines loads and can't wait to play others.  i know there is a adam family in town that i haven't played yet!  we have talked about it every time we have a party here.

We didn't write down any rules from the first event. Roughly we followed the TOPL format.

• 1. Players are divided into groups of up to 4 by rank. Larger groups if applicable are composed of lower rank players.
  
• 2. Each group chooses 4 machines to play.
  
• 3. Each machine is played once, and scores recorded.
  
• 4. League points are awarded based on the chart above.
  

Recommended machine settings:

• Tournament Mode
  
• 3 Balls Per Game
  
• No Extra Ball Award
  

If an extra ball is awarded, it must be allowed to drain.
