If the seller asks a conservative price and someone accepts and is ready to pay and take away as agreed, that should be it...done deal. It is NOT ethical to take a higher offer afterward.
However, if the agreement is between friends, the original buyer (in this case Sparky), can cut the guy some slack if he really is getting that much more for it from the other buyer.
It just might be a grey area in this case.
Let's not dig up this old discussion again about selling ethics. That's been beaten to death. I have given up so many pins due to someone bullying themselves into a deal that it no longer even fazes me. It's normal. Niche market and small machine population.
Hey Sparky, My BK is still for sale. You can have it for the asking price.
I am as much a fan of Williams as I am of the Sens.
Seriously, thanks, but no. I think I will clean up my shop of all jobs first. poor Tiny has waited so damn long for his Seawitch playfield... my focus is finishing all that. THEN... mehbeh.
How does that work? If you offer the asking price, you get the machine, no?
I once offered the asking price on a Haunted House. The "seller" still has it in his basement. He's posted it for sale again since, and it still didn't sell. I'm still not sure what his problem was...but I'm not interested in playing games, except for pinball.
