I'm paying $1.50 for each EMT I send, I can receive EMTs for free. I bank with CIBC. I get the impression from others that they don't pay at all to send EMTs.
Anyone know what they're set up with before I go to talk to the fine folks at CIBC? Thanks! Daniel
I just paid $1.50 on a deal via an Interac EMT through Scotiabank. This form of payment was demanded by the seller so I had no choice but accept the terms. I was *this close* to telling him to stick it where the sun don't shine but backed off. It was either pay by EMT or a payment upon delivery for a couple cases of my Baby Duck 'Special Reserve' Wine-in-a-Box ... but I'm saving those for special occasions.

I bank with BMO. I got 2(two) free EMT transactions per month. I'm not sure if is for both sending and receiving or only sending.... I never had more than 2 per month.

I'm also paying $1.50 at RBC. I guess it's something that could be included in some sort of VIP package, but I'd expect to pay something for money transfers. At least they're actually doing something for the $1.50. It's not like a $35 NSF fee which really burns my stones. Not that it's ever happened to me, that is...but I've heard stories.
Heh.. I hear that. Actually the NSF's are $40 now. I just had one recently.. I refunded someone's shipping via Paypal ($5), and totally forgot that it comes out of my Royal account (which is at $0 at the moment -- it's my scammer ... err I MEAN "hobby" account) and not my TD account. Well.. that $5 refund cost me $40
Bitches..
oh, and $1.50 is what I pay for EMT's as well. It's not bad really.. it sure beats the Paypal fees

i just did a deal with a member of the group on a pin and we were both charged $20 for emt , next time a check in the mail is what i will ask for.
But that is your Bank Dave, and as I recall I could have done a transfer for free on the deal we did, if I had that bank around here. EMT's are $1.50 to send and $0.00 to receive through the Royal Bank. They are far and away the easiest, best way to send money between the 5 Major Banks in Canada. Also, be aware that the limit is the same as the limit on your bank (interac) card, so don't hope to send the cash for over that amount unless you do it over a couple of days and expect the EMT fee to apply to each one. Of course if you are sending that kind of cash, the $1.50 shouldn't be an issue...
Dave (sent Lots of cash through these, even received a few! )

my credit union doesn't have access to Interact EMT. I have a TD account, and they cost me $1.50. If the person Im transfering to has TD though, I will just drop into the bank and make a transfer. Faster, no acceptance needed, and no fees.
