Just to help bring some variety and relief from pinball stories to the MAACA Chat section....and I know, it's not real without a picture.... (damn I am sure if it wasn't raining so hard Menace would have taken one).

I picked up a puck bowler from Menace on my way home from the Ottawa trip today (thank you Menace, for the bowler and all the help loading it).  I have a short wheel base (never again) mini van, and well, the bowler didn't quite fit.  We did manage to cram it all in and tie the van's back hatch down.

We moved the driver seat forward to cram in the last few inches of the score unit.  I don't think Menace saw the final spectacle, but Grauwolf may have, I think I saw him laughing at me as I pulled away.  But if you can imagine this, the driver seat was so forward that I had to squeeze in, my chest at most maybe 4 inches from the steering wheel, my legs folded up to reach the pedals and my face pretty much bugged out and almost up to the windsheild. Dark, rain just pissing down, I'm drenched from the loading. I left laughing hilariously at my stupid own desparation not to leave this baby behind or get a trailer....

So picture me toodling down the 404 and 407, hunched over the steering wheel like a bus driver, face nearly pressed up against the glass, rain pelting down - can't see out the rear view, almost can't adjust the side mirrors .... and all I could think about the whole way home was "if this air bag blows, I'm a dead man."

Coin-op Collectors Lesson #415 - When bringing home a puck bowler, do not underestimate its length, and remember to measure the interior space in your pick-up vehicle or trailer BEFORE leaving home.

I missed you pulling away, so I wasn't laughing at you, but I've been in your position before. Hopefully your drive home was faster than mine was, traffic was just stupid trying to get out of town.

Does a second person verifying that it did happen negate the requirements for posting a picture? Believe me folks, it did happen!

Not as comical without the driver, but even this picture doesn't do it justice...

...I'm beginning to think of my own advice about posting proof of your own stupidity not being a good idea. "Really officer, I figured they made the seat move this far forward, why not drive this way?"

I also have a backache to prove it!  (I lucked out traffic wize, getting off the 404 at 407 was probably the key... as it looked pretty busy up ahead... )

The drive was about 90 minutes I think.

Glad you made it home ok.  I wasn't sure we'd get her in there and you in the driver seat until I actually saw you pull out of the driveway!

Glad to hear you made it home without any issues.

Yeah, I should have paid the $10 toll to go from the 400 to the 401 on the 407, it took me over 2 hours to get from Doug's to Guelph.
