Some of you have seen the conversation in the "PINS ONLY" Conference about the Black Hole embroidered crest I've been designing.  

It was suggested that we should make an embroidered MAACA Crest too.  Sparky is OK with having his logo used in this fashion.

I don't have a problem doing this, provided I can get comittments for pre-orders.

The minimum I can get is 50 units.  Each crest will cost around $6 + Shipping.

We could likely get away with 7 colours.

I've definitely been considering either BK or BK2K.  HH and Gorgar would be good too.  What's the interest from the rest of you in any of these?

I never ask for donations but at 6$ a crest, for all you members that are very active on the forums and classifieds, may I suggest you look into possibly ordering a crest? Bish is a bit short for a complete order... any members willing to step up to the plate and support the community?

I'm waiting to see the actual mock up from the Crest people, that was what made up my mind of the BH crest one

My wifes best friend has the $50,000+ machine that does this stuff in her basement if you guys really want to get into this. I have looked at it and it looks like some sort of computerized loom. The thing is massive. She prototypes stuff all the time and I am sure would be able to tell you how to format it for the machine. In fact running this stuff is what she does if your looking for someone.

Man - that's a lot of crests to make for $50,000... let me guess Glen you service the machine, and have a whole other life in sewing business (besides muscle cars, & pinballs).

I won't be submitting the artwork to the embroidery company until I have a committment for closer to the minimum order.  

We're getting closer, though.  I'm sure there will still be time to see the mock-up and put your name on the list if you like what you see.

The small crest prices out to be $6.00 - the larger  crest is $6.50

We have to pick one...I can't get both sizes.   I'm leaning towards the larger crest.

The "screw" in the center of the logo will be silver (hard to tell from the graphic).

The minimum order to submit to the embroidery company is 50 units.  I am still taking pre-orders at this point, although we are much closer to getting this order together.  Realistically, I need at least 40 to proceed.  

So far, I'm hearing people would rather spend an extra .50 cents and get the larger crest.  I'd like to hear from everyone else to make sure we're all good with this.

I tweaked the artwork a little, adding more of a shadow along the bottom edge of the coin insert square.

I've finalized it, and placed the order for the larger crests.   It will take about a month for the crests to arrive.

The MAACA crest has arrived.  It's a little more eliptical that I originally designed, due to the larger size you requested.  My scanner doesn't pick up the colours on this very well.  The background is a beautiful navy blue, not some muddy dark colour as shown.

I would suggest that you contact Mike or Kevin at CPR... they have a section in their store for apparel. I bet these crests would sell very well. Maybe offer crests along whatever pinball plasticks set, backglass or playfield they have...

Gorgar is a good choice...

Any classic Stern pin is good... Flight 2000, Catacomb, Big Game... even the STERN symbol, but that is just me.
Classic non-licensed Ballys like Paragon, Lost World, Centaur (would be cool), Fathom...

Except for the issue surrounding licensing, and dealing with wanus.    After seeing what crap machine.slave has had to deal with rergarding his shooter rods, I think I'd prefer to keep this just amongst the local collector community.  Besides...this way, all of you gain access to products no other collector will, world wide.  Very cool, IMHO.

Same here, glad I ended up picking up the Black Hole patch too, looks great!  Dammit, why do I think I'm going to become a regular purchaser of these?

I want to thank everyone who paid quickly for their crest.  My pocketbook thanks you for not keeping me in debt for the crests.

For the few of you who have not yet claimed your crests, please advise me how you'd like to proceed.
