The auction list is published the morning of the auction. There is no list available currently.

Lately it mostly video stuff, usually there is less than 5 pins in every auction.

Like HP5P said, there is no list published until the day of the auction. As was mentioned in your previous thread, Vidiot's site only lists the results of the auctions, not the contents of upcoming auctions.

And with all that said, there is no way I'd make the effort to drive to SB from Quebec specifically for the auction. It would be a complete waste of time unless you're looking for a junky old (non-classic) vid. The pins (and there are usually only 3 to 5 in the auction) are usually undesirable titles that need some degree of work and the prices are marginal deals at best -- and any deal on a pin is usually negated by the 13% tax anyway. Add the gas money on top and you're better off buying a pin from a collector in your area. Trust me.

If you have a couple of other reasons to be in the area that weekend, then by all means make the trip. But to come all that way just for the auction will only result in disappointment. I'm sure most other seasoned Starburst vets would concur.

My humble two cents.

SHOOTMEINK!!!!!!

We did this already in your other post!!!!!!!

the details....

-Pins are Rare. and usually not well represented.  Mostly Vids and occasional redemption
-list is released the morning of the auction.  There are rumours of being able to see some of the stuff the night but i have never heard from anyone who has done it.
-$200 to get your bidding number, but you can look at the list and games before you decide to bid or not.  refunded after auction (or it goes towards purchases)
-bring your own power cord and a friend to help you test. The stickers on the cabinets are RARELY correct.
-Get the stuff out of there by 3-4 after your purchase.

after all that, decide if it is worth your time to make the pilgramage.

Hell, GJD's last auction at least had a few working pins!!!!!

Pins:  TMNT (visiting Sparky)
Pinzilla (multipin project) (GOing to visit Terry!)

Vids:  going away... nothing but Mame is staying

Some killer deals on 90's video games.... if you think SFIICE is a classic, or have always wanted your own area-51, then they are usually there and priced well.

Otherwise, latest auction had pretty much NO "classics" and LOTS of gumball machines

I wouldn't be surprised that Gerald's auctions do better than Starburst's at some point. I have seen the stuff at Starburst, and wasn't impressed. As stated, barely any pins at all. Mostly tired 90's games and conversions, a few redemption games and kiddie rides, and that's it.

I would like to see an auction at the Museum where there are a few items from collectors for sale, which Starburst doesn't have... other than the backyard sales done in the rear parking lot.

You bring your game and give Gerald a percentage of the sale. One focal point for it all.

You can do that with Starburst as well, no idea what the % is as I'd rather just sell it on a site like this and not bother with the extra fees.

Agreed!!

I just go to see the guys. I do not remember the last time I registered as there is never any decent pins and the taxes is the final killer. Starburst cherry picks the nice pins and sells them in their Pre-owned showroom. Anything in the auction either needs lots of repairs or is tough sell, like the Junkyard in the last auction that has been sitting in their showroom for months now.

Call me crazy (most do now ) but has anybody ever seen a redemption game called "Speed Demon" in the auctions? It's mostly red with a large lighted wheel behind that you try to stop the light on a number. I play with the idea of putting one in our gameroom as Seb and I like it the best at our local Midway.

There's a good guide to the SB auctions on CGCC:

Can't say I've ever seen one.

Speaking of redemption games, if anyone ever sees a Simpsons Kooky Carnival for sale somewhere let me know.
