Just an observation. Seems like there are many pins for sale and very little buying these days. I guess the summer pinball off season has officially begun and everyone is out enjoying the good weather, opening cottages and preparing the Seadoo's.
Enjoy the summer guys ............. it never seems to last very long!
It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!

Spring and Fall (jsut before Christmas) are when most of the movement happens. People looking for something to do during Winter, and Spring Fever is always active. If you plan for it, though, the summer is a good time to score deals.

You just have to be patient a bit until the sellers realize they aren't going to sell at full price in the summer, then prices drop.

I've had the opposite happen to me this summer. I have offered asking price on 4 machines so far and have come up empty-handed. So I just gave up looking.

How does that work? If you offer the asking price, you get the machine, no?

Perhaps someone else offered more. It isn't unethical to take more than asking price, you know.
I remember when I was originally looking to buy Dr Who, someone paid more than asking price for the first one I missed. When there are others looking to purchase, it can happen.

It is usually a good move to offer more, if it's worth it to you, sellers see this as committment (and who wouldn't want to accept more than asking price) that squeezes out your competition, as opposed to low-balling (except when over-priced to begin with).
2 I was a bit too late, and 2 were swept from under me by someone offering more money after a deal was reached. I got the typical PM from the sellers stating "well... you know... someone offered me a lot more money... would you feel bad if I sellit to them instead? I will make it up to you...".

If the seller asks a conservative price and someone accepts and is ready to pay and take away as agreed, that should be it...done deal. It is NOT ethical to take a higher offer afterward.
However, if the agreement is between friends, the original buyer (in this case Sparky), can cut the guy some slack if he really is getting that much more for it from the other buyer.
