I saw a six million dollar man pin in the local classifieds. It says it light up, but wont power up. Asking $325. Is this a fair price for a project pin? Also i have no expierence fixing pins, how hard are these to fix? Thanks for your advice.

Doesnt sound like a bad price.

As far as "how easy it is to fix"?  That all depends on your skill level, knowledge of electronics, soldering and troubleshooting.  All the information to fix them is on the Internet.  Of course, the problem may be easy, or may be difficult.

I would make a wild guess if it lights up and wont start...it probably battery corrosion on the MPU/CPU board.

Forgot to add, this game also has 6 displays (for 6 players).  Could be pricey to fix/replace them if they are not working.

How hard are they to fix? Read this:
http://www.pinrepair.com/begin/

And this:
http://www.pinrepair.com/bally/

Then read it again and again and again.

With regards to the 6M$M, my first guess would be that the original battery is still on the MPU board and it has leaked and corroded a number of the components near it. You could potentially fix it yourself for a few dollars (if you know what you're doing), send it to someone else to fix for a few dollars more (ie. Mindstorm88 on this forum), or if the board is beyond repair, buy a new reproduction MPU from any number of on-line retailers for $200. You'd still need to perform the other modifications and upgrades to the solenoid driver board and the power rectifier in order to give yourself a machine that it reliable for the long term. And there may be mechanical and/or cosmetic issues you may need to address as well.

The price you quoted isn't terrible if the game is complete and cosmetically sound.

Hope this helps.
