I have been trying to find the Molex connector for the interconnect on Williams Pin system boards. Alot of places carry, but have no stock. The connectors I have found are 10 pin, and look like this.
and are used to connect between the boards, as shown here..
If I order 100 of them, I can get a better price break. They will end up being $1.25 Taxes in, Each. (FOB London, Ontario)
I am looking to do a group buy of them, Min order would be 8 pieces (which would do 2 boards) at $10.00. Shipping via Canada Post is free first class mail. Would rather ship to centers and have local people distribute.
Order being placed as soon as we hit 100 pieces.
Please respond to this thread with the number you want, and the current subtotal.
I will be ordering 12 pieces for me, 88 remaining.
It's the "interboard connector" on all Wms sys 3,4,6,7 boards. That big connector between the MPU and Driver Board. It's a 40 pin connector.

Williams System 3-7 driver boards. This is the female-style connector that usually needs to be replaced to ensure long-term reliability in Williams machines made from 1977 - 1984. The header pins are readily available anywhere, but this female connector is not as easy to find, it seems.
But the Achilles heal of this design is the 40 pin inter-board connection. Williams' designers opted to move the entire data bus (8 lines) and address bus (15 lines) over these pins, as well as the reset, blanking, interrupt and every other critical system signal.
Note: We need to make sure that they can be put side-by-side, e.g. that the sides of those connectors are thin enough so that pins still align between the 40-pin male connector and the soldered 4-stack female connectors row...
Thanks! - Sylvain.

Why is it that group buys happen JUST after I place my orders with more expensive sources. I just bought the last of the 8 contact Molex 09-62-3082 (PCB Thru-hole Bottom Entry Female) (they worked a dream in Firepower) at canada.newark.com (there's something like a 45 day lead time on most of the new stock on tehse types of PCB connectors, I think Molex must be changing their line). They want something like $4 per connector now (thoguh I got them a bit cheaper). The same connectors come in a few different contact materials, but they are still out of stock even if you search for gold!
PBResource has them, but they are still not cheap.
So I just recently placed an order with Mouser (arrived today) for 09-52-3102 (which is a close cousin in 10 contact version), price US$1.33 for the low quantity I purchased, but almost double with shipping (I should have made a larger order, but I needed them fast). Arrived in 7 days by USPS, no Duty or tax.
Both those part numbers have thin sidewalls such that they can be mounted together no problem.

That's $1.91 + taxes + shipping (which is a flat $8.00).
Way cheaper your way however I need some NOW..
Mike
