This is the first time that I have looked at a Zaccaria pin on IPDB and I have to admit that it is really nice with interesting artwork. Those colours blow my mind. I could see myself adding a pin like this to my collection in the future. I had no idea that Italian pins were so vibrant.

I've played one in Allentown ... and the pictures don't do it justice .. visually a really nice pin with as I remember it (it was 2 1/2 yrs ago) a couple neat items in the rule set.

That was an interesting video of the game that you posted and I agree, the sounds are perfect for sci-fi & fantasy themes. The game flows nice on the video but I should ask you Squid how it felt when you played it. Do the flippers feel soft or clunky or just right? Is it a solid game or does it seem fragile when it gets "bumped"? Damn it, now I am all curious about this pin $%^&*(!!

Jeremy Wilson had one for sale one here a few years ago and it took forever to sell. It seems to me he said it eventually sold for $1k (which was a fair bit lower than his asking price) and he had to ship it out of the country to find a buyer.

I think it's a neat game too, but the fact remains that it's still a Zaccaria and finding replacement parts and repair info can be a challenge when it comes to the non-mainstream manufacturers. I think that's the biggest issue with machines not made by the big-four and the biggest reason they don't get more respect and attention from collectors. That and the fact that there are so few of them to be had in North America and there weren't many on location 'back in the day' means that there really isn't much demand.

I played Farfalla and a couple of other Zaccarias that David Gersic brought to Expo a couple of years ago and they definitely have a style and charm all their own. The only thing I don't like about Farfalla is the speech when you start a game: "Let's see what you can do!"

For more info on Zaccaria, see David's site at http://zaccaria-pinball.com/

If I remember correctly there was a weird backflip that you could do on the outlanes to save a ball. The one at Allentown had decent flippers and they stayed strong all day (and it was played all day). It felt well built very solid, a fair number of drop targets .. all in all a decent (and fairly original) game.
