What's your favorite backglass? My best choice:Medieval madness:good choice, just the arrow with the mashmallow on the cab???but we talk of translite, fish tale very nice desing but the fish on the top??? Twilight zone, very nice and a lot of details,Cirqus voltaire,Fire(not the cab)desing,Space invaders:terrifics, tales of the arabian night:nice desing and mysterious and Eight ball deluxe:I don't know why maybe remember me when I was young...
Lot of translite are easy Shadow funny game but the face of Baldwin break this game,Last action hero is complete game ,6 balls, gun, magnet but the face of Arnold??? T2 also,
Demolition man,Elvis ok I know the designers had not big choice
The translite that I don't like and sorry all owner: Tspp (I hate Simpson the series),Sttng(all people say that's best game for the price),Getaway I don't like the desing ,World cup soccer:what do they think to put a dog playing soccer on the translite?,Taxi:Marilyn with gourbashev, santa claus???,Jurassic park:I don't know...I never played this game because of translite
These were my choices and I don't want to offence the owner of these games,it's just forum of pinball.Any opinions?

Stargate, BK2K, Zenon.

The other thematic ones you mentioned like WCS94 are all in the eye of the beholder, though there are generally some that are pretty much universally disliked (like Genesis, and The Shadow).  Dislikes are more personally subjective I think.  I most certainly wouldn't NOT play a pinball because of the backglass - who looks there while you're playing the game?

Depends what artists you are into. I personally love Gordon Morrison (Gottliebs from 70's), Dave Christiansen (Bally from the 70's), Paul Faris, Greg Freres, Kevin O'Connor and Stan Fukuoka and Youssi.

Personal faves: Paragon, Silverball Mania, Iron Maiden, Nitro Ground Shaker, Catacomb, Black Hole...

Space Race is very psychadelic, lots of colors, lots of mirrored effects (the stars) AND it has space chicks

Backglasses and cabinet art are there for one sole purpose only... to attract the player and intice him/her to put in a quarter. It is merely for marketing purposes. But a fun thing about it is that it also can add a certain story-line to a game.

At on a machine can make or break a pin. Cases in point, Demolition Man and Grand Lizard. The first had a super translite lined up and it got vetoed by Wesley Snipes. It ended up with the absolutely family-portrait-looking translite there is now, which didn't attract people to it. Grand Lizard wasn't that popular either due to the backglass that looked like it was done by an 8th grader, but having had the original art which was supposed to be on it, chances are it would have fared better.

Scared Stiff has an amazing backglass IMHO. No not because of the cleavage but for the multi-layer effect and attention to detail and humour.

I also think TZ is very well done. CFTBL is also very nice.

I really think a backglass is important in a home game-room. I think every game room needs at least 1 pin with a nice backglass.

Pins owned:
Bally - Twilight Zone (1993)
Williams - Star Trek The Next Generation (1993)
Bally - Scared Stiff (1996)
Stern - Lord of the Rings (2004)
