As you all know, today is Remembrance Day here in Canada. And if you don't know that, shame on you. November 11, 1918 marked the end of hostilities of WW I, and is universally recognized as a day to honour our Veterans of all military service. Today, where ever you are, at 11am please stop and observe 2 minutes of silence in honour and respect of the people who have served and sacrificed their lives to keep this country free.
Terry Kelly relates a story of the actions of one person he observed on a Remembrance Day in Nova Scotia and it inspired him to write a song about it. Please spend a few minutes to download and watch the video, it's very powerful and will be worth your time.

I was commenting to a Lady at our Bank last week how I hadn't seen Any young people wearing Poppys, But On Thursday and Friday, there were Many Many Kids wearing them, I was pleasantly surprised, I am sure they got them at School, but they were being worn Proudly, after school with no adults around to make sure. That was good to see.

Absolutely..... Also, lest we never forget how it started, with the death of a single person, who happened to be Royalty, and squabbling over a chunk of land barely big enough to bury the number of bodies from the war it created.
1 in 3 Canadians who volunteered were dead, missing, and wounded from both World Wars IIRC.
I thanked my grandfather, he was a vet in WWII. He served in Italy and Holland. Toughest guy I know.
