I have friend at work... wait not true, were not friends, truth be told we annoy the heck out of each other... Anyways, this 'Acquaintance' is involved in a project to refurbish an old Arcade / Laundro-mat into a drop in center for troubled teens. About three months ago he tells me and another friend about a 'stash' of pinball parts that we should come and check out. We make tentitive plans to check out this 'stash' but it never happens as my 'Acquaintance' gets sick, (so he says), and takes the next 10 weeks off from work.
So now he's back at work and regales us with the story of how many pin playfields, vid cabinets, and vid I.C boards that they had to take to the dump!
Crap!, Crap!, Crap!, Crap!, Crap!, CRAP!!! Too bad he was too sick to call me about all of the stuff being scrapped! Did I mention that we annoy each other?
He has also told us of a large collection of backglasses a marquees still there... So we have made plans to see them on Monday after work.
All I'm going to say is he better not get sick again if he knows what's good for him... I'll let you know what I find... Well as long as they don't take it to the dump I guess. Did I mention that we really really annoy each other?

Yep, I've got one of those... a friend of a friend... had a barn full of games that some deadbeat operator left. Took them all to the dump. Seems to be the urban legend of arcade collecting.
Maybe its true. Maybe he is just doing it to annoy you?
Happened to me a few months ago, my wife's uncle stopped at home while leaving out of town for 2 weeks in vacations. He told me he rented a storage place (obviously not for pins and vids but for his work) that had about 5 or 6 "plastic cab videogames" he said.
He also say in the same beat, that he asked owner what they were and supposedly, a previous guy put them there but since he didnt paid, owner kept em "but can dispose them if uncle doesnt want to see em again...". Of course uncle doesnt give a f*** about vids and agree.
So he tells me that i can have em, as soon as he's back from vacation in 2 weeks. Guess what ? Of course, owner bringed em to dump... so they vanished. I never get to see em but from what i understood, all they could be was Sega Plastic cab OR Williams Duramold Either case, they were stored for a good 10 years so they were likely not Sega or they were brand new.
Oh well, my usual luck... good luck Gooddicksa !

Ah the good old pattern of someone lying to you and getting caught in his lie
No, nothing like that, It was my fault. I didn't confirm our meeting time, so nobody was there when I got there. I could have waited around for them to arrive but it was starting to rain and I was on my motorcycle so I decided to bail. (My wife had an appointment and needed the truck) Ya I know that I could have gone back later but I got lazy and didn't feel like driving back to the other side of town for something that may turn out to be nothing.
Oh my, now who's making up excuses.

O.K here is what I found. - 1 Mirrored backglass for Black Hole in good condition (that's it no other pin stuff) - Various home made cocktail glasses (Hmm not quite what I was hoping) - 1 Burger time glass (flaking badly) - 1 Blue shark glass (quite good condition) - 6 other vid or EM game glasses (poor to good condition but I did not recognise the games) - about 20 old isolation transformers (all with cords cut) - approx 40 old coin mechs. (all in poor condition) - Various old Video power supplies (all with parts missing) - Various Jukebox power supplies (all seemed complete, but have been stored in a damp area.) - Other jukebox, shuffleboard odds & ends. - About a years worth of exposure to mold & mildew so now my alergies are acting up (this is not helping the cold I have right now)
If anyone has interest in some of this stuff, (ya right!), just let me know and I can go back... Well after I kick this cold that is. Aaaachooo!
