If someone happens to be able to grab a spare of the Auto Ranging DMM for me, I can pay them back for it, just let me know so I don't buy one as well when I get back in town.
How fast is the reaction time of the short test? I use Flukes at work and they're very quick but expensive. I have a cheap $15 one for home and it takes a second or two to beep.

The beep is immediate.
Been using my Crappy Tire DMM for years. The test leads *suck* because the tips can break fairly easily, but you can get replacements from CT for cheap. Otherwise it works great.
I could never bring myself to pay $200+ for a Fluke.

Conversely, I went through a handful of these 'bargain' dmm's and always wound up frustrated. It took a while to bite the bullet for a low level FLUKE but I have never looked back. Thing has been great and support has been great (when I had a slight issue with the dial).

On the grinder, is this what you'd get if you wanted a buffer (replace one side with a buffing wheel)? Is the HP enough for buffing - I recall folks suggesting 1/2HP?

I was planning on using a wire wheel on one side and the buffer on the other. I'm tried of using a vise and drill attachments; this'll clean the bigger and tougher stuff that the tumbler can't do.
I purchased this same unit months ago on sale and it is mint! Dr. Sparky showed me how to test diodes with it, it has a lot of functions. Buy it people!~~ buy it
Now where can i find that digital level for cheap?......
That's what I have.. I had a lot of difficulty finding 8" buffing wheels and buffing compound. But it works wonders!!!
