Hi Guys
Just got off the phone with Pam at pinbits.......They have shaker motor kits available for AFM, HS2, and STTNG. I only asked on the price for AFM, but I'm sure they are all the same...$185.00 USD. plus shipping, she also told me that one is being done now for MM and LOTR, they should be done soon.

I don't think I would put one in an HS2 thinking about it. It's kind of neat doing the shake from the accelerator alone and I wouldn't want to mask the sensation you get from that.

Personally I would rather have an ES with it already in. Anyone got a project one? (the list gets longer....)

Are you ordering one from them Andrew? On weight alone it would seem like something better bought at a show.

I was thinking about putting one on my IJ for the idol lock.  But I was talked out of it, due to the possibility of it causing issues to other parts of the game.

Yeah that would be a good point in the game to shake. What kind of issues are you thinking of besides the obvious potential of loosening parts?

I've been waiting for them to release one for my STTNG, I have all the other paraphernalia (control board, harness), but I was also thinking about simply adapting a Stern: http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=1007&parent=181 and saving a couple bucks?  I wonder if there's any difference?

How do these shaker motors work without code support? Are they just tied to a certain lamp, or does it get more complex than that?

I don't see the motor on their site though my question remains the same.  Adapt a Stern shaker from Terry at Pinball Lifer for US$135 or spend an extra $50 at Pinbits (or does that also include the control board and harness. I guess I could ask Pam too... but that might commit me to actually getting one.

$185 includes the shaker motor, all the installation hardware, drilling template, detailed instructions, a padding base, custom harness and custom control board  so the shaker works during certain modes or events depending on the game ie STTNG control board acts differently than the AFM board. Pam and Martin are amazing people to deal with and at least for me, are even better than Terry for customer service and that says a lot since Terry is also beyond amazing.

You can't beat some of the custom parts and ideas they have and their quality and workmanship are beyond question.
