I have a couple of oscilliscopes that need fixing. One has no name...says its from Devry...thats it, but its a real nice one. I plugged it in and something smoked. So I looked inside and saw a fried resistor. Thing is, I cant find a model number so I cant locate the schematic and see what resistor value is. That one resistor is burnt so I cant see the value that way either and I sure dont wanna guess. The rest of the unit looks really good, only reason something got burnt...or so I summized after taking it out of the housing...is there was a mouse living in there and it bent the legs of the resistors and caps so that one was touching another.

Second is a Heathkit IO 4540 and it powers but no screen. Again, looks in pretty good shape but I've yet to look inside, so for all I know it could be something simple.

anyone knowledgeable enough to work on these or have a contact for a good and fast repairman?

Nevermind! I found my guy. Keith, in Port Credit. This guy is awesome and fast. He's always got a mountain of repairs to get at but he'll get to it. I used to use him years ago and then I lost touch when he moved his shop. I finally found him again...right on!
