Ever see five or six tow trucks circling an accident scene like a pack of vultures ?  I think us pinball junkies are just about as bad.  Some poor schmuck in North Carolina posted an ad on Craigslist offering his Eight Ball Deluxe for $200 !!  I sent him an email some three hours after the ad.  Apparently the guy was so besieged with phone calls and emails that he was in a tailspin !  By the time he replied to my email, he was already getting offers to pay $300.  When he asked me if I would match the $300, I replied back that I would.  Well, that was the last I ever heard from him.  Obviously he was in way over his head and some alpha male swooped in with an offer that allowed him to stop returning emails and phone calls and get on with his life.  Poor guy...he had no idea what he was in for !

the Meteor I picked up from St. Catherines, the guy said he was getting hammered with emails for that.. said if he had that many responses for the other stuff he sold, he'd be a rich man.

Thankfully he was an honest seller and sold it to me for what I offered, despite being offered more by other buyers after the fact... (private heads)

I think the better question is: Why bother surfing Craigslist in areas so far away? If you actually do find any real deals, chances are that a local will beat you to it. And if they don't, you're taking risks by having to send money into a potential abyss, having to have the machine shipped, etc.

I limit my CL/Kijiji trolling to my local area, but perhaps that's just me.

I hear ya, but oh...the deals to be had stateside !  Also, most of the machines I look for are not often found here and being so rare they're out of my reach anyway.  So, I might as well surf Craigslist for every stinkhole town in the Midwest in the hope that I stumble upon something.  Anyway, gotta go....I just found a BMX machine in Wyoming !  (kidding )

There is a way to search all canadian craigslist listings(not sure about the US ones tho)

Use google advance search option

input whatever you are looking for in the  "Find web pages that have..."  Fields

In the "Search within a site or domain:" put this or the US version of it "craigslist.ca"
