Wow!  Yeah, in 2008, I didn't think that there was anything left hidden anywhere.  But honestly, those Vids are scrap (water damage or sun fade for sure).  I guess those plastic computer space ones might make it though.
Nice.

Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now)
Pins: White Water [WH2O]

I read through most of the important parts. Here's my executive summary for the lazy:

- Dude heard through a friend that there was a barn in the middle of nowhere with games in it. This was the second person to mention it to our hero, but the first to remember the location.
- Dude gets a phone number for the owner but it was disconnected.
- Dude finds out the owner's name and realizes that he sorta knows the owner through a friend's sister, or something. Anyway, dude makes contact with the owner and they reach an agreement. The thread does not disclose what the agreement was.
- The current owner purchased the property a year ago. The barn and its contents were included. Shortly after purchasing the property, the current owner allowed some friends to take some wood off the barn for some reason. This is why the games were exposed to the elements.
- Dude is attempting to locate the previous owner, just to get the back story on these machines.
- Dude went back to the location and took more pics. He then realized that there was actually two CS's in the barn.
- The owner cannot make it to the location for a few days. Dude waits.
- Finally, dude and his buddy make it to the location with the owner and manage to get the CS's down with the help of construction equipment. It was extremely dangerous and they determined it was not worth trying to save the other games in the barn. Quote from the thread:
Quoted Text
There were 4 Em machines total in the loft. 2 sea raiders, a Spooky, and a SAM1. They all had solid cabinets, but they were all weathered by humidity and moisture. They were in a possibly repairable condition, but all of the glass had the paint flaked off,and all the metal components were rusty.
Someone might restore machines like this, but It really isn't worth it. I am pretty sure that Jason will back me up in this, Come and get them. If you want to risk your life (seriously)then go for it. We didn't feel it was worth the effort.

Just walking around, my foot went through the floor, and the whole building shook. It was really dangerous.

- Once down and safely in dude's garage, he determined that one is complete and the other is missing boards. The one missing boards has the nicer of the two cabinets.
- After reseating some connectors, dude got the complete CS to play blind, although the monitor does seem to work. He's now looking for assistance with the repair.

/summary to page 29 of the thread.

Hmmm I'm not ready to say that, you know, not so many years ago, people who had to repair pinball machines had to search manually and do a lot of phone calls to find a part. Now that we have internet, it's easier, but a lot of those person are not even wired to internet ( I'm talking for some people I know... ) and don't want spend time searching for parts on the internet. Then for them, sometime, instead of searching for a specific part, the easiest way was to take it from another and almost ''scrap'' the other one, and put it into a barn... Wich a few year later, when machines were there for many years, they threw them into garbage.... this is a story I know from someone near my place... And I think this is something that is happening in a lot of subburbs....So in my opinion, there's some place like this one closer then what we can think...

We have to think that for some people, those machines are nothing more then ''money makers'' and when they've done their work, their only good for the garbage.

Eric
