Microsoft is offering to buy Yahoo for a whopping $44,600,000,000, one of the largest takeovers in history.

$44,600,000,000 would buy a lot of pinball machines!  

Yep. They are offering $31 per share. I believe Yahoo was trading at about $19 before the announcement.

If you have Rogers it may have some effect given the Rogers/Yahoo partnership.  Given Rogers media reach with cable/internet/phone/cell, a partnership with Microsoft could potentially have some far reaching effects in Canada (or unleash all evil depending on your opinion of these companies).

Yahoo is not just a search engine company, I understand they have quite the reach in internet expertise.  Still 44bil?  That's ridiculous. Does MS need to expand their tax writeoff?
