I didn't have the opportunity to really experience this pin prior to owning it so I thought this might be of interest to others given the low production.
Of note. I only unlocked three modes. Never got close to completion of all modes, of 200 laps, to pit in, or first place; furthermore there are four speeds on the shaker, I only obtained one in the vid.
It is of a complete game. So unless you love Williams/Bally or have an interest in this game it probably is too long to sit through the entire video.
Thanks for the video, i like these gameplay videos for some reasons.
If anyone owns a rare game or just for the hell of it, make vids of your games and post them on Youtube, give a better feel than pinmame for the sounds and ball reaction.
I've almost bought an I500 in trade for my JM a few years ago but i ended out trading it for something else. A very interresting game for sure, liked it for the little play time i had on it.
Currently owning: - Solar Fire, Medusa, Flash Gordon, (Centaur), No Fear ------------------
I've had this pin for the last few years on and off (traded it and managed to buy it back) and I never seem to tire of the soundtrack on this game. Apparently it has the I500 announcers Bobby Unser and Tom Carnegie, and their voices blend perfectly for this game. I'm not really an I500 "racing" fan, however I'm a big fan of this pinball, for the gameplay and music/speech. After all "It's a good day for racing and a great day for pinball." (Or something to that effect).
This game seems to offer more than I can give in any one session of play. To finish the race seems damn near impossible. Complete all the challenges, improbable. Come in first place at the end of the race.... well I would have to get to the end of the race first off to tell you about that.
Turbo still requires tweaking. The ball sometimes stutters in the turbo and looses speed.... so it comes out a manageable speed vice 300MPH, but I want that speed consistently. The other issue I have is when it fires balls out sometimes they bounce from the wireform into the right drain with no ball save. It all looks like tweaking to me which I am trying to figure out.
