Just a quick thank you to everyone who are helping others in this forum. Since we are having a negative thread going on, i think we should also see the positive..

I have 2 particular people in mind, please feel free to praise the others i forgot.

Recently Sylvain and MrMikeman replied to almost every technical questions threads with a lot of informations and helpfull hints on how to fix/troubleshoot the problems. I know Cooke, Necro_Nemenis, Mindstorm and a few others are also an awsome source of information. I just cant remember everyone

I raise my hat to you all guys and to everyone else who have the knowledge to help and are actually doing it. You all make this place better every day.

I agree, the technical knowledge and willingness to share it is the ONLY reason that I continue to buy games. Without it, I would have quit in frustration years ago.

...Cooke...

Me? My experience is very limited compared to Sylvain. He is a class act and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the hobby. He never embroils himself in any of the forum politics and is always pleasant and helpful. My hat goes off to him in a big way.

Sylvain and Mike have both been invaluable to me...I'm constantly AMAZED by how much they know...both 100% class acts that are as honest as the day is long. I'd have 2 rooms full of metal waiting to be melted down if it wasn't for those 2 guys!!!!

For sure Sylvain and MrMikeman are in their own league.   Menace comes to mind as extremely helpful & Mindstorm, too.

Also, those that have hosted any form of get together deserve a big thanks - as it puts a face & names to the MAACA-handles - and exposed me to a bunch of new games.   I've had a lot of help from people outside of the forum, but whom I only met because of the forum.   I played a lot of pins in the 70/80's but my memories crap - the meetings have been great.

The admins for keeping the forum working & a better vibe than the rgp threads.   Also, all the gameroom / workroom photos - or road trip stories are fun.

But I like the other poll in the sense that I have moods - I went 24 hours with logging onto MAACA - that's a record for me....

Hmm, wasn't the oscars / golden globe last month???

A big thanks to all who offer their own little personal arcades for us to play with, when we attend the regular MAACA meets.  I'm impressed at the sense of fellowship between everyone and *looks to see if wife is looking over his shoulder* I hope my own collection will grow enough that I too, can invite all over to my place.  You guys and gals are the best.

Thanks for the appreciation and kudos !
I love fixing pinball machines and have been doing this as a serious hobby for over 26 years.
Indeed I often try to help others repair their machine when I get a bit of limited spare time !

I certainly feel that MAACA has been the catalyst for bringing the best in many of us,
including for sharing valuable information about parts, prices, tips, historical info, people,
machines for sale/wanted/trade, shipping, customs, fun meetings, amazing custom-made designs,
restorations of artwork, photography, troubleshooting/tips, techniques, shows, books, etc.

I also tip my hat to all others who have contributed positively in this fashion to the hobby.
Thank you. I have learned quite a bit here too.

I also want to Thank Sparky and all other admins for this MAACA site (and MacPhreak!).
It has been a big success in my books, and is part of our ...addiction with machines
I will be cured in one or 1200 more machines

Thanks again,
Sincerely,
- Sylvain in Ottawa.

Seriously thanks for the appreciation....  The only reason I still enjoy this hobby is the mental challenge of resolving issues/problems..  THAT's the fun part

This is very true. The challenge is fun, as well as reviving the machine.
I feel we are performing an investigation, what is wrong, how did it occur, and how to fix it.

Thanks! And the EMs too
However, I will leave you with most if not all of the DMDs.

Cheers,

I look at it like this guys...

I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated, so I always try to help out when / where I can.  This is also a double edged sword at times though.... (and usually how I get sucked into those "negative" posts from time to time)

Just glad I'm able to pay it forward.
