U.S. PINBALL ROADTRIP!

Just a quick word of warning if you're going shopping in the States...
I just drove down there today to pick-up some stuff from my PO Box,
and got pulled-over at US customs, crossing "into" the States
because I told them I was going to pick-up some eBay stuff.
It turns out that with all the Canadian shoppers crossing over,
they assume everyone is going down there to buy cheap goods
to RE-SELL in Canada , and as such, are trying to hit you with an export fee.
The fee is minimal ($10,75) , but I had to plead my case that my rare
Duramold Multi-William Artwork was NOT for re-sale.
[ BTW: All I had with me was the eBay receipt with the item I had won...
I was bringing this to show value and pay taxes coming back into Canada,
not for going into the States...
I didn't even have the damn thing with me yet ! ]
Frankly, I can't see how they can possibly prove that you are going
to re-sell anything since you haven't actually bought anything yet.
I would expect Canadian Customs to charge Import fees if it was obvious
I was coming back with 300 "widgets" for re-sale, but not the US Customs coming in.
It made no sense, and wasted 30 minutes of my time.
I'm still not sure what that was all about,
but for anyone going to shop in the US,
tell them you're going "visiting" and not "shopping" ....sheesshh...
