Im thinking about buying a GPS, i never had one before. Just wandering if any of you have them and what is a good 1 to buy. I probally will only use it once in awhile so i dont want to spend to much. Thanks for your opinions.

GARMIN is the make I like the best.

My personal one is a Garmin and we have Tom Tom and others at the office and everyone wants the Garmin if it is available.

If you have a blackberry there a good one on that - it updates fast enough to use for road.

The garmin with the sand bag weight is good too.

I've got a Magellan paid $150 for a factory referbished one at Tiger Direct.

Works great, got me all across the West Coast from Las Vegas to Seattle without a single issue

I had Tom Tom on my previous phone (ipaq) it was alright..but I bought a Samgsung Jack back before Christmas hacked it to unlock the internal gps. it has built in gps by magelin or something but rogers wants you to "pay" to use it. So with a quick file hack I now use Garmin FOR FREE!  and have never looked back...works great

The biggest thing that can't be over looked is the Text to Speech feature.  You want a GPS that can talk to you (and says the street names) even when you're not looking at it.

Tom Tom 1 works great for me. Just need to override certain decisions to avoid heavy traffic etc. Wouldn't do without GPS once having had it. Period.

Ten SS games...but 8 is my limit!

I am a GARMIN user have a IQM5 with OUTLOOK CONTACTS, which is great BUT: KEEP IT UPDATED so you dont miss a flight cause the freakin airport has moved...

THE SECRET: KEEP UPDATING ON THE WEB and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE MAP SECTIONS you need before a trip....A 2 to 4 GB card is best, with all of CANADA on IT !!!

The Blackberry 3G is also great and has contacts, but the difference is that a BLACKBERRY has a live map, and GOOGLE MAPS ON THE WEB at your fingertips, as the

Garmin has your contacts and once you haev programmed them well, you simply go to contact, and then ROUTE TO IT....and BINGO...

The NUVI IS GREAT TOO....
