I have little probleme with one flipper on my new seawitch.., and I just want to be sure I understand how everything work.

When you push the flipper button, both section of the coil are activated, the strong part and the one to hold the flipper, when the mechanism going to the EOS switch, that stop the stronger part of the flip and only the section to hold the flipper work.

If I'm Ok, is it possible to have only the hold section not working on a coil. If my flipper bounce all the time and my EOS switch is certainly open at the end of the course, can be something else? coil stop?

Peut etre, je pourais pas te dire j'ai jamais eu un probleme comme ça....

Chose a faire:
Verifier pour etre sure que y a pas de fil de brisé ou patte de diode brisé et que le EOS est en bonne condition pis qui fait ça job et surtout les fils bien branché a la bonne place pis si toute est beau tu prend une marche jusque chez ton marchand de pieces usagé en arriere de chez vous, Phil's Pinball Parts And Service, pis tu te pogne un autre coil pour essayer!

Oui c'est possible (et ca arrive souvent) qu'une partie seulement ne fonctionne pas.

il faut desouder les diodes pour les tester ... donc aussi ben les changer direct.

mais beep les 2 fils du coil pour voir s'ils sont pas brisés

This generation of flipper coils have both coils wired in-series.

The EOS switch shorts the weak/hold coil at flipper rest, thus all voltage
is applied only across the strong coil.

When the EOS switch opens, the two coils are wired in-series again,
and thus the hold coil is powered (via the strong coil) and keeps the plunger in.

Flipper chatter is 99% of the times caused by the hold coil itself being opened,
usually at one of the lugs, thus when the EOS switch opens, the current is
interrupted, releasing the flipper, then the EOS closes shorting again
the hold coil thus all power across the strong coil again, operating the
flipper again - until EOS opens.

So If I change the coils, everything is supposed to run smooth? If we admitting everything is wiring OK... so, if there is some mismatch in the wiring, can I have this symptome?

It can happen, but it's rare that a coil is borken.

While an opened coil is not a frequent occurence, it happens often enough
to have been posted a few times on MAACA and numerous times on rgp.
I had to fix a few of those myself.

In many cases the coil can be repaired without replacing the whole thing,
if you locate the break of the hold coil: often right at the lug
(or improperly tinned/soldered).

I just change the coils with one bally I had in stock (same number) and evrything work. I just need to take care of the feature lamp now!

I have learn a lot on flipper, since today, i have rebuilt a lot of flipper but I have just put the wiring at the same place, now I can figure where everything goes and how is working.
