I'm not sure if I want a spinner and/or a trackball with my mame...  in fact I remember only arkanoid that was a classic spinner game (do you have other in mind?)  I know some people use spinner for racing game...  I remembered a lot more game with trackball (puzzle bobble, gal panic, tetris... my arcade was limited   so sould I put only a trackball?

I check the mini-pac from ultimarc and look like a good way to complete my project (a 2 players mame, 16-18 buttons + the trackball/spinner) anyone try the mini-pac? Or how did you connect or think is the best way to add a trackball/spinner).

Tempest is probably one of the better-known spinner games...

But if you have to choose one, get a trackball over a spinner...

I would say Tempest or Arkanoid that game has allot of following.
Sure you can play it with a joystick but not as fun at all.
But frackball for sure there are allot of track ball games.

Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.

Some other good games for both spinners and trackballs not mentioned yet.  Some of my fav's are Rampart, Crystal Castles, Missile Command, TRON (not really playable in mame), DoT (same as Tron).

If you can only choose one or the other, I would probably go trackball.

missile command, I forgot this one, problably because I played it at home and not arcade...

For the trackball, I ckech with ultimarc... U-track seem usb direct, no need to buy and other board so it seem the best way to add one trackball  or do you recommend another way?

The best way is probably a usb trackball.  groovygamegear.com sells an interface for trackballs but if you can afford to go the usb way (I have seen some at $80+) it will save you a lot of trouble.

For me the cheapest way was to buy a jamma conversion kit on Epay..  (Capcom Bowling)..  Kept the trackball and the sold just the board+marquee on Ebay.  In the end I paid 5$ for the trackball...  I use the Opti-pac from Ultimarc.  It lets you have a spinner AND a trackball on the same board.  I also use the spinner for games like Pole Position, Championship Sprint, etc..

I would go with both if you can afford it...

Mike
